Those are where we keep our nukes. Those sites are only expected to be targeted in the "2000 nukes" scenario, because in the "500 nukes" scenario, the US has already launched our nukes at Russia and destroyed most of their retaliatory capacity. If the US strikes first, those sites in Montana, Wyoming, etc. are already empty, so the Russians have no reason to waste their remaining nukes on them (instead they would be expected to target major cities and population centers, i.e. the purple sites). If the Russians strike first, they would have their full nuclear arsenal, so they would have plenty of bombs to drop on rural nuclear sites in the middle of nowhere, and a good reason to do so (disabling as much of our retaliatory capacity as possible).

The biggest redpill is that the ''''Cold War'''' was a joint PsyOp by the USA and the Soviet Union to have their populations live in fear of a nuclear holocaust.

Newfag poorfag here, I stumbled upon the concept of grand strategy games recently and got EU3:DW since it was the best combination of easy to find and download, relatively low learning curve (according to a 5 minute google search), and most importantly that I could actually run on my toaster of a laptop since I apparently can't run any incarnation of EU4. Since I've picked it up, I've played a few saves as the teutonic order, minamoto, the aztecs, brandenburg, and sweden, each lasting for around 100 years give or take. Currently on frankfurt, trying to see how far I can take them just by blitzing towards tech with an emphasis on being small and economic and avoiding other people's wars. Maybe when I have 10+ tech levels over absolutely everyone else I'll just steamroll them so that even if the emperor bitches about it, he can't stop me. Haven't decided yet.

The thing is, I haven't slept well in like 5-6 weeks. I used to get like 10 hours a night, now I wake up, open my laptop and load my save again, play for around 15-20 hours straight before I get too tired to continue, then wake up and do it again. The actual time I wake up and fall asleep varies and is dismissive, and I end up eating whenever I actually notice I'm hungry rather than on a semi-regular pattern. I don't even give any mind to my other hobbies anymore and my backlog has not only been not touched, I'm not even keeping tabs on what should go in it.

I have NEVER been sucked into a game like this before. is it just because it's a new genre for me, am I maybe a little autistic, or is this just norrmal for new people trying to overcome the learning curve? Regardless, I figure I'll lurk here for a while and hopefully absorb something useful, if only just perspective. Just from browsing this thread, it seems like this community has a decent learning curve too.

Lots of nuke sites are secret, but enough of them aren't that it is easy to see that the nuclear capabilities of both countries were very high at one time. Well, so far I'm 4 levels ahead in everything during the 1470s so that sounds about right, I figured it would just ramp up from there. First lower your neutrality and dont disband army. I have seen some people to do it but it takes too much time to build a new one, because:

Attack Shanxi as soon as possible. At the beginning your neutrality is 100 so you must do everything you can to lower it so you can attack before Japanese occupy them. Raise threat on them and nationalists. I must admit that i used noneutrality cheat to be able to attack them on time, since japs were coming. I think it is posiible to do it without cheating too, if you just kill their spies quicky and then concentrate only and completely on raising threat.

Dont be afraid to go to war with nationalists, since they are weak and by the time they are at war with japan already. Just leave some militia to guard your border. Rush to Shanxis VPs. Shanxi is important because they have one very rich province, which gives so much MP to you. After that i took Xibei or whatever the western neighbor is. This maybe is not necessary because they dont provide that much IC or MP but even little bit is good for C-China. Then just push to Nat China territory. They are weak after Japanese attack and while they look big, they dont have many cities left. Take the city below C-China while they are still fighting japs and you are one city richer.

Use rivers to fortify and build more men. I found militia quite useful because they are fast to build. Dont forget to build some 3 INF + 1 ART tho because they are the backbone of your river crossings etc general attacking. If you are not retarded you should be able to research actually useful tech which gives you advantage. Against japanese i think militia is outdated and rather useless. I would have upgraded them if i had time but as you can see i was in hurry because USA landed on japan and i wanted to take my cores before japan surrenders.

When Japan attacks allies it should pull out some troops from China, so it makes attack easier. If you have time, by all means upgrade your army and prepare. You probably knew but artillery is crazy good in this game as any country and it is madness that AI doesnt use that often support brigades. As I said i thought Japs would actually be reasonable and retreat but they decided that China means everything to them and if i should guess im atm fighting their main army. They have something down in Burma too. I have border patrol in Japanese Indochinese border but i havent seen any of them yet there. If i had time to prepare to lets say until 1943 or even 1944 it would be much easier task. Encirclements against Japanese seems to be a must thing to do. Many docks make them hard tho. Definitely not an easy playthrough but interesting and fun. Recuiress much micromanaging, but your army is so small that it doesnt bother too much. Good luck everyone trying this. I havent played past that screenshot. Well, only a little. Japs lost Tokyo and guess where their capital is now? Beiping. Even though they still have their southern islands which are equal in victory points. What a meme nation.
