I see Mass Effect: Andromeda 2 going in one of two different directions with the protagonist.

Either:

A. Pathfinder Ryder is again the protagonist, but there has been a 5-10 year time-skip so they are much more grizzled/experienced and actual leaders now who command respect

B. Bioware adopts an entirely new protagonist for the next Mass Effect game, and Pathfinder Ryder is given a cameo akin to Hawke in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Due to all the backlash they've received about the writing being "immature" I really doubt they are going to make the next game take place directly after this one with the same goofy young protagonist with no changes whatsoever.
