Not baiting, I legit think P3 fucking sucks compared to P4 and what I've played of P5. It tries too hard and the characters are dumb and shitty, the only decent character being Aegis. P4 had more life in it and it knew what it wanted to be, even if it was a semi rip-off of Jojo. I'm liking most things about P5, namely the combat system which is as it should be, instead of making you get lost in the menus. Also Ryuji is better than Yosuke, and Morgana is better than Teddy.

Does anybody have any tips on how to get through the beginning of the game on hard? It feels like a huge crapshoot that I don't have much control over since very limited abilities and the enemies have a good chance of one to two shotting you, ending the game on a crit.

The berserking ability wouldn't have been useful to him at the time. The localization screwed up the explanation for it, but how it works is that it doesn't actually make people psychotic, it just essentially removes their restraint. All berserking the PT would've done at the time is make them go all out against him, and that's counterproductive at the time.

No, he definitely does use his berserking ability on himself. It's not as clear in the localization, but in the Japanese version, he wonders out loud if he can really go all out against them/Joker before using his ability on himself (and thus removing what restraint he had in the previous fight).

Loki has nothing to do with his mental state - he uses him in the first fight briefly too. He's just a second Persona he can call on as needed.

I wouldn't say it's bad, I greatly enjoyed it and it's a definite improvement of the formula. I also really liked that they moved a bit back to the roots with the addition of Psi/Nuclear/Guns and the overall darker theme. The whole final boss thing is the only thing I'm really kinda mad about since I fear that it'll just repeat forever.

That's not necessary, no. You just need to pass by the spot you entered at. That's the same reason Ryuji ends up unconscious nearby after the explosion in Shidou's palace - the explosion flung him past the area they were at.

I believe it's mentioned at one point, though I don't recall where. Futaba's expanded explanation for the trick does at least mention that they had to come up with a way to get both Sae and Goro to leave the palace on their own again, though, hence the pre-recorded message on Joker's phone to get Sae to turn back. In Goro's case, no extra measures were necessary beyond making sure the navigator app was activated in a spot he'd pass by again on the way back after he killed cognitive Joker.

All you've got when it comes to grinding is the one area before the final boss (but it gets really boring really quick) or fighting the Reaper (who yields 75k EXP, and he can get sick like a little bitch to make it even easier)

So while I'm glad we got dungeons back, I definitely think that the next game needs more dungeons. Being introduced to a mechanic and having it repeated for fuck if I know, 4-5 hours, gets very tiring. At about the halfway point of every dungeon I was always hoping that it'll be fucking over soon.

The way I see it, killing death is as impossible as it is to breathe in space. as in, the laws of physics quite simply don't work that way. With the theme of the game being remembering that you are mortal, you are forced to accept reality that death WILL come, no matter how much you wish otherwise.
