How do I figure out which is the best catalyst/chime/talisman for buffs when I'm an int/fth hybrid?

According to wiki, all of the casterinos that scale with both stats only apply one of the stats when buffing, so the "spell buff" stat is completely useless

Starting INT with the Sorcerer and casting HSA will 1-2 shot nearly everything in the early game, and so will the starting STR/DEX Mail Breaker.

When making a Sorcerer, you should always go for quantity over quality, but getting 10 STR for the Raw Broadsword is always recommended.

Just finished the game for the first time. Did anyone else feel like half the game is missing?
Every other souls game gives you kind of an initial objective (DS1 you have to get to the titty lady, DS2 you have to kill the 4 great ones to get past the shrine) and then you get another objective after that.
In DS3 you get an initial objective to kill the 4 lords of cinder, and then the game ends after the next boss. I have to be fucking missing something here.

Unless you mean the crystal chime, which scales non-dark spells and miracles with int and faith, but that's only for damage casts, not buffs, buff with the crystal chime only scale with one stat and since the crystal chime only goes up to C scaling it's not very good for buffing

What you are asking is if there is a damage mitigation calculator, where you input ar and defense and output damage. I don't think so, your best bet is to test with a friend. Also, there are swing modifiers that you have to know.

When people say magic is shit in PvP that's an exaggeration. It's hard to time it but when you hit people you can practically one-shot them by chaining Homing Crystal Soul Mass with Crystal Soul Spear.

Are they ever going to fucking address the shitty optimization of DS3? It crashes about every two or three hours of play and there are areas that just murder the framerate. Scholar of the First Sin by comparison ran at a solid 60 fps and I think I only ever crashed once or twice in 150 hours.

Hi. My name is Skra and this is my first build.

I started playing Dark Souls Oct 11, 2016. I wanted to role play this game as a knight for no other reason than I like the way knight armor looks. I realize that there are better defensive options. It seems to me that new players almost always tend to make a Giant Dad and I want to do something different. This build is what I have ended up with.

While learning this game, I realized that the Claymore has TWO thrust attacks: a one-handed thrust attack and a rolling two-handed thrust attack. So, whether I’m one-handing or two-handing my Claymore, the Leo Ring bonus damage would always be available to me. It occurred to me that the Leo Ring would go with my build nicely considering that I'm fast rolling in medium armor.

With Charcoal Pine Resin applied and the Leo Ring counter bonus triggered, my one-handed R2 thrust attack does 820 damage against the Cleric in the Darkroot Garden. My two-handed rolling thrust attack does 836 damage against him. The Leo Ring aside, stabbing the Cleric in the back one-handed yields 884 damage, a two-handed backstab yields 901 damage and Riposte is 1048 damage (I used the Cleric for testing because he heals himself). With the Green Blossom and the Grass Crest Shield regenerating my stamina, I rarely find myself unable to use my rolling thrust attack. It's just always there.

I've read in the forums that the contemporary quality build is 27/40 because of the two-handed bonus for strength, but I wanted to make certain that my one-handed thrust attack did as much damage as efficiently possible because the damage bonus granted by the Leo Ring is percentage based. Also, since my two-handed thrust attack requires rolling, I had to figure out a way to get my equipment burden below 25% so that I could fast roll without being too squishy because my vitality is so low.

So, my first build is finished. This is it. It's my Veteran Knight and I love it.

you literally get quality AR on a sunlight straightsword with 40 faith and half of each quality stat. 25/25/40 SSS has 414 AR plus SO and miracle access for 90 points of investment, with room for more investment. 40/40/10 longsword has 428 AR for 90 points. If you want to match the refined AR with SSS you only need to add five more levels. For those five levels you get an otherwise identical sword with access to nearly all miracles. Unless you really like stance L2R2 there's zero reason not to use SSS.

you gotta get the damage of each split above the defence level of who you're hitting (most people are gonna have defence of 150 - 185)
