Being on the Dragon Ruins arena regularly has made me aware of how much better the graphics in DaS3, like the textures on all weapons, armour and surfaces, look when the lighting is bright. It makes me wish the rest of the game wasn't so gloomy.

That was pretty much Dark Souls 2 though.
Dark Souls 2 takes place outside of Lordran and is much more down to earth than Dark Souls 1. Dark Souls 2 is like a medieval/dark fantasy and Dark Souls 1 is more mythology/dark fantasy.

The cycle shit only really gets heavy-handed (and kind of sort of lame in a way I can't explain) towards the latter half/end of the game, but for the most part, Dark Souls 2 does a really good job of expanding on the outside world and how it's effected by the functions of things established in the myth-like Dark Souls 1.

Dark Souls 3 took that concept from Dark Souls 2 and kiiiind of ruined it at first. But The Ringed City is really good about how it handles its themes and ideas.

Its a matter of perspective. Its the reasoning behind a lot of the naming conventions in DaS1 and 3.

Improve lower investment Int -

>Spook adds movement speed bonus for a few seconds after casting
>When inside the Snap Freeze cloud with your opponent outside the cloud, gain weak obscuring ring effect which blocks lockon

Expand options for Str/Dex with Int/Fth -
>Blessed and Simple now have Crystal/Lightning tier damage
>Crystal and Lighting now have the regen bonuses from Blessed and Simple
>Blessed and Simple now increase the scaling of Str/Faith and Str/Int respectively

i started ds3 recently as my first souls game and im getting my ass kicked. im on a level where theres so much shit between bonfires, i feel like i cant make any progress.

Any fun weapon/build suggestions? Not necessarily THE META but fun stuff that is also viable/good. Most of my builds are either full STR or balanced, so I'm trying to go outside of that but am pretty much completely unfamiliar with sorceries/pyromancies/miracles and which catalysts are best for each. 200+ hours in this game and I basically haven't tried any magic stuff.

I was thinking about a semi-meme build with Murky Hand Scythe/Dark Hand/Crucifix of the Mad King/Preacher's Right Arm (Weapon Art)/Demon's Scar and an Izalith Staff with Dark Blade/Dark Edge/Great Soul Dregs/Affinity.

Secondly, I heard something about infusions getting changed a lot; would it be better to use Dark Blade or is a Dark-infusion now great for some (a lot of?) weapons?

You get a lot of good spells early on in the Demon Ruins.

What's a good weapon (and build I guess) to pair up with Blessed Weapon miracle? My understanding is that higher faith just increases the hp regen of the miracle, not the damage bonus. If you've only just figured out how to level up, you might've lost souls and be underleveled. But honestly, grinding isn't going to help much at all. Upgrading your weapon will do wonders, though.

Are you using a shield? It's not as useful as it seems due to everything breaking your guard way too often. Learn to dodge/roll rather than depend on your shield too often.

You can run straight to the door behind him and use the bonfire there, then try and practice killing him. It won't be such a long trek then.

DS3 is kind of an awkward place to start the series. I feel like if I started with 3 I would've given up pretty quick due to the frustrating speed and enemies that don't fucking stop attacking. Haven't played BB, maybe that's why.

If nobody should ever be able to get a heal off (Which is unreasonable theorycrafting BS) then the player with more health simply has to follow the player trying to heal, and prevent the heal.

I think I figured it out, the answer to the riddle that is the painter and Yorshka. both seem to be around the same age and lets face it Gwyn couldn't really be Yorshka's father and a matchstick in the kiln at the same time.
