So I'm your regular PvE guy who has occasionally invaded/killed invaders here and there but has never gone too deep into PvP. Thinking it on giving it a shot. Sharp Lothric Knight Greatsword + Lothric Banner
39 Dex, 24 Str to 1h. Use Resin and use the banner for a 1.15x modifer to all your AR that actually works in PvP. Equates to 863 AR that you can get for very little investment. Using AR calculators this is [equivalent to 662 pure phys AR]. You can do some 66 Str slam jam shit to get AR like this, but with Warrior you can actually achieve this with less investment.

Here's a SL90 build with it. SL90 is just low enough to not have to invade 120s. It has enough poise to eat UGS/Greataxe 2HR1s

You never build a character for just a single weapon. You build a character for the generic weapon type/class you want to use, and then take those weapons into PvP.

A 40/40 quality build can do use most weapons in the game, a 60/20 build specializes in great weapons infused Heavy, and so on.

Which of these two builds looks better? I must know before I commit one way or another, since they start at two different classes.

On the one hand, the one with PChain can be fitted to SL120, with more HP and better stat distribution for whatever's needed (less waste Luck, an Attunement slot, and Dex for wielding other weapons). However, it's also locked to 35 Vigor and 35 Endurance without the PChain, and is forced to lock in three ring slots in order to utilize the pictured build, meaning only one utility ring slot.

The other build can only work at SL125, has no Attunement slot and has waste points in Luck. However, it isn't tied to using the PChain, so it's free to have two ring slots for utility (in this case, Life Ring to counteract the 35 Vigor while also not being susceptible to PChain's extra damage, and Chloranthy for better stamina recovery).

I plan to use this build mainly for co-op, so even if PChain has a different %
for player-based damage it shouldn't matter that much.

Splitleaf Greatsword (halberd), Millwood Axe, Mace, Ledo's Greathammer, Yhorm's Great Machete, Greatclub.

Vordt's is supposed to be good now but I haven't used it. I like the Quakestone Hammer a lot as well for the WA, loads of poise, good range and high damage. It's a nice long greathammer in general, but the R2 is not as Great as the Greatclub.

That's all that really sticks out to me. There's other stuff but it's basically all subpar.

Is this some meme I'm unaware of? It's genuinely good, it has the perseverance effect and if you hit the first part, the followup combos. It's an overhead swing so it's not the easiest thing to hit but again because Quakestone is fairly long you get good range on it, and if you can't free-aim attacks you shouldn't be using greatweapons to start with.

There are some bosses and enemies that just shit on shields though, like Midir or Friede. If you don't have a fast roll then those bosses can become near-impossible to fight. Plus there's the penalty to stamina recovery above 70%, which would mean mandatory Chloranthy +3 just to mitigate.

I theorycrafted a 120 build at just under 100% with the points put into Faith, but that one didn't look that good.

Also, you were right, at this Vit level it drops down to just under 70% when you un-equip the greatshield. It's almost as if it were planned.

There's basically two luck builds. One is straight Anri's, where you pile up 40-50 luck and then just pile on Vig/End to taste. This build is really best at lower levels where getting a ~400 ar straightsword for 40 in one stat is pretty decent. If you want to go big on regen you can also tack on 15 faith for Blessed Weapon since Anri's is enchantable. I guess you can go further into faith for more regen stuff if you want; use Ethereal Oak Shield, Sun Princess ring, Bountiful Sunlight, more powerful BW, etc. Anri's also gets some AR from faith as well so that's fine.

The other build, which is actually interesting rather than a walking brick shithouse, is Luck Sorcerer. You go 40 Luck and 23 Int, then Vig/End/Att. You get Anri's sword and you pick up a Man-grub Staff from Rosaria. This staff scales with Luck and with 40 Luck you'll be doing decent damage with your sorceries. You still have to use all the rings and shit, but now you've got a pretty classic spellsword who pew-pews at range and can still fuck shit up with your straight sword moveset in melee. Side benefit is utility sorceries like Spook and Hidden Body. You don't get the higher-end sorceries but they all suck anyway.

So far as I'm aware there is nothing else of worth to do with the luck stat.

You can't move enemies off the map they're native to, so the closest you can get is modelswapping NPCs for other NPCs. The problem there is they'll typically have wonky hitboxes, and they'll still use the original NPC's AI.
