What's your tolerance for bad gameplay? If it's high, start with the first on PS3. You'll appreciate the franchise more.

Otherwise, start with mk2, if you can. Others will tell you to play the Re;Births, and they're not a bad choice either, but you'll get burned out fast since they all play almost identically. Mk2 has a few mechanical differences from Victory/Re;Births so you'll at least get to switch it up a bit as you progress.

Also starting at VII is like starting Final Fantasy at IX. You'll enjoy it, but you'd appreciate it far more if you played its predecessors first.

Also Blanc is best girl.

To further explain the point of the Rebirth games being identical, RB1 plays like the original V but with 3 characters to match the original's party setup while RB2 plays like RB1 but with a standard 4-slot party, and finally RB3 plays like the other 2 but has EXE Drives tied to your SP meter instead of it being it's own gauge lije the previous 2.
