Kind of a high-risk, high-reward hero. His early game is pretty trash but his late game is horrifically good. Learning how to trap people in walls is rough, and good players will manage to evade your walls even when place them effectively. But as the game goes on his advanced scaling puts him above other heroes, and his late game talents are all exceedingly good options.

Depends on your aiming skills. He can be distressingly immobile and terribly weak to dive, but he can blend enemies apart if they're careless and the placement of your zombie walls can be a great aid or a great hindrance to your whole team.

A lot of it is compounded by player ignorance and lack of understanding of the game, and the fact that we have an odd number of heroes where we don't have 120 heroes in the pool to choose from, so seeing the same 4 heroes banned out of like 60 isn't really something the balance team can fix.

People don't ban Lucio, Rag, Malf, Tass because they are overpowered or they can carry, but rather because not all heroes being equal, elliminating heroes that fall into any comp then forces the enemy team into picking a more counterable support hero, like Morales, where you csn build a team around the objective on the map and countering the enemy.

Low rank people blindly and mindlessly pick and ban what they think is strong or what they see on icy viens and don't think about it, so you cam't fix that from a developer standpoint, you can just keep adding heroes so the ban/pick pool becomes bigger and more diverse naturally.

I've only been playing my level 20 heroes, and none of the three are "the meta". Johanna used to be, but now she's deleted by mages. Butcher has been niche from the start but I am driven to dive and go berserk nevertheless. And Lt. Morales is just not on the level of Lucio and Malf but parasite medic is my favorite place to be.

Yes. I feel that the whole "this is what is meta right now" has infected the player base as a whole.

You can be in gold plated bronze and if anyone picks anything slightly unusual, then people act like holy shit, learn the rule of the game!

When 90% of what is meta is based on a coordinated team with microphones.

Granted I also feel that awhile ago, hard CC was king. Now I feel that mobility and healing is king, which to me makes for these really long drawn on non-committal team fights where anyone who can't keep up with the likes of Lucio/Ming, basically feels like trying to club a squirrel with a sack of nerf footballs, and the squirrel can also teleport.

A lot of older heroes need big reworks to keep up with how the game keeps shifting towrds mobility, escapes and more mobility.

I used to love stitches, now there is virtually no reward for hooking people who are not Jaina or Kael, but only if Medivh doesn't exist.

Tanks should just ignore her for the most part, and walk away if she's too much of a problem. Mostly they should just pretend to be a threat and let someone else deal with it.
Anyone with skillshots should laugh as she has sacrificed her ability to dodge and therefore selected death. This goes 10x for Chromie, who just deletes Hammer from existence.
Dive heroes have a complicated relationship with Hammer, as the desire to leap upon her is strong, but she will just W you away, shoot a couple times, and then Z in the other direction. But even so, usually it's better to just go in.

In general, realize Hammer is made of glass and wearing you down as you hem and haw back and forth in her firing zone costs you more than anything else.

Team game. If you don't powow or show picks or anything in the pick screen then you're doomed anyway. Certain strategies don't work, and games don't last 60 minutes. Show your picks, be flexible, and try to make the best with the tools available to you.

You will roughly lose half of your games regardless of skill level, so don't get caught up about losing. The important thing is what did you learn, and how can you apply that knowledge to your future matches.

This game is not dota or league, not everything works. You can mangle together a shit team with no synergy or counters or strengths and expect to do well regardless of how your team plays. The whole team has to be on board and if not, then the draft isn't the reason you lost.
