I really have no idea what the value for defense means, but I imagine it is directly related to the damage dealt by weapons. I typically put between 10 and 100 armor on ships. It becomes less important to have so much once you research robotic repairs, since these will repair damaged armor during and after battles.

Until you have robotic repairs, stick with stacking up lots of shields and armor as a last line of defense in case shields get drained while a ship is fleeing.

Jesus, Ming is so fucking weak it is untrue. They constantly have to have 90% of their army fighting rebels in the south, meaning I can confidently fight a two front war with Korea and China because they can't do anything. They've hired so many mercenaries that they're 3k in debt at all times, their army is absolutely atrocious, regularly losing even when their army size doubles mine (which isn't very often, as they're all down south), it was genuinely more difficult to defeat Korea's 10k than it was to defeat Ming's 40k.

Parakikes have actually done quite well with this expansion, redditors hate it because they're casual niggers who can't figure out grand strategy and just whine until they break the game for them, but this is actually enjoyable for the first time ever.

That just means that the testing is invalid. If I calibrate an IQ test by writing it in English and administering it to 1000 American adults, and then give it to an average Japanese child, he would score poorly because he doesn't speak English, even though the average IQ of Japan is supposedly higher than that of Americans. Now of course if you gave a test in their native language, Africans who have never taken any kind of "test" before would still perform poorly. The language barrier is just an example.

If you want to measure the IQ of people who have never had any schooling, you need to come up with a cleverer way than just giving them the same kind of test as you do in first world countries.
