Don't get too far ahead of yourself, son, Bloodborne's an absolutely standout game, but has some pretty fundamentally different aspects to Souls. It's mostly the combat, which is much more fast paced and visceral than Dark Souls. Souls is about learning movesets, waiting for openings, it's more about a slower strategy, whereas Bloodborne is about aggression, quick timing, being fast on your feet and making the most of your larger weapon movesets.

However, both series' (for Bloodborne is different enough thematically, stylistically and just about gameplay wise to be considered a separate series) absolutely retain the trademark From Software feeling of reward and victory for beating bosses. That's always there.

some NPC interactions end and you can't go to the unseen village in it's pre-moon state. if it's your first playthrough the game don't worry about it. You really can't do any of the "quests" in this game without a guide to spoil it for you anyway. They are all convoluted and rely on a being in specific spots at specific times you would never be.

Ariandel is fun but too short. Also one of the boss fights is lazy as shit. Adds a ton of new weapons tho and lets you join undead match.
TRC is about twice as long, has 3 amazing bosses and 1 questionable. Not too many more weapons and armor sets have been added, but overall give the game more longevity. All in all, Id say its worth paying 30 bucks for both of them

If this doesn't work, my 100% guaranteed way to trigger it is to drink the blood she gave you and basically die/reload area/go to hunters dream. I've had this same thing happen multiple playthroughs and I always have to drink at least the first blood, she gives you another one after the second brain fluid and i don't think it can stack which is causing this lame bug.

Guys, is Durability Down not actually reflected in the weapon stat screen? I know that duradown doesnt effect guns at all and guns cant break, but is it the same way for normal weapons? I've gotten my weapons to "at risk" a number of times, so I know my weapon has actual durability, so then is DuraDown on weapons just bugged in the gem fortification screen or does it not actually effect anything at all?

You can actually cheese him the same way you can cheese Gascoine. By the entrance, there's a group of tombstones that the NPC will always try to attack you through, instead of circling. You can keep NPCs there stuck and keep attacking them with a long range attack like the Hunter's Axe tricked L2.

The Nightmare Frontier and Mergo's Loft (Middle) are popular for duels, and the DLC areas are active in co-op and invasions alike, especially at ~BL100. At twink levels, you'll find plenty at the Forbidden Woods, Byrgenwerth, and Cainhurst.
You can also ask for co-op here in the general if you get sick of SRRC Defiled Hotdog/Amygdala, Lower Pthumeru shenanigans, etc.

Yes, it is. Look harder.

The curse is not bugged, the way it works is that you never lose more than 1 point of durability per hit even if you stack three gems with dura down in one weapon but weapons that hit mutiple objects in one swing or drag along the floor in their attack animations break faster, like the Beast Cutter or the Beast Claws, so you have to watch out for that. Basicaly, the only downside to the curse is that you have to go back to the Dream more often to repair your weapons.

The game series are mechanically really similar but the styles are different enough that it isn't a given that you enjoy DS , then you enjoy BB or vice versa.

If you are going Str you should be levelling Arcane as well, Tontirus, Moonlight, Wheel and at least a couple of others are all Str - Arc scaling. The only Str weapon that doesn't off the top of my head is the Beast Cutter, and I'm not 100% sure of even that.

Arcane can use almost every weapon and tools. So it melts through PvE and is really good for PvP.
Bloodtinge has gunspam and two really good weapons for PvP.

Shit even Insight has more explanation than that, forbidden knowledge, seperate from actual intelligence. Beasthood is how feral the blood has made you.

For PvP you'd want +10 weapons, which require blood rocks, which you can buy with insight after beating the wetnurse. But if you beat her you can't get invaded anymore in mensis. And you'd probably want to do chalices to get good gems so you need the loran chalice, so ko more getting invaded in NF.

Where did this meme come from? Why do so many people act like dodging into attacking enemies is the "secret" to being good at BB?

Dodging forward to counterattack has its uses, but it's not universally superior or inferior to dodging+counterattacking in any other direction. Which way you should dodge entirely depends on the direction that the enemy is attacking you from, the hitbox of their attack / how long it lingers, where you and the enemy will end up after you dodge their attack, and the enemy's attack behavior after they miss.

Dodging forward means you have to be much more precise with where you dodge to to land a counterattack, since you don't lunge towards them with your R1 like you do after you dodge backwards or sideways.

BB was my first souls game; got it in early December.
I've only just recently picked up DS3 and beat the first boss in one try. It feels like I'm playing BB with a slow, handicapped character who can just panic-roll out of every attack combo. Bosses in DS3 seem to only have as much HP as a strong mobs do in BB. Also the animations suck compared to BB. You can't "feel" the powerful impacts like you can with BB; everything just looks so much more floaty in DS3

Demon's was all about the secret of souls and how they brought doom upon the kingdom of Boletaria. If my memory serves me, the idea is that using soul magic awakens the Old One, a fog covers the land and brings with it countless terrible demons. There's a lot more to it, like what demons are, how they come to be, what the Old One is, etc. but the basic idea is souls can be likened, in a way, to how the Church used blood and caused the doom of the city.

There's also some gameplay similarities, such as a branching hubworld, the Nexus, which branches out into several different zones via the Archstones, and has a qt level up girl (Maiden in Black). Demon's wasn't a continuous world, each Archstone was an entirely separate place unlike how all of Yharnam is continuous and connected to other areas, but they Archstones/Gravestones work basically the exact same way.

Most of it comes from the fact the majority of us have played most or all of From's action RPGs and have found some lacking compared to Bloodborne. I personally did not enjoy DaS2 at all, I found it a total slog, DaS3 was fine I guess and it's been way too long since I've had access to DaS1 to comment. We happen to like the game we're in the general for the most, which I don't find terribly shocking.

BB isn't really like Dark Souls at all. It's much more like Demon's, itself fairly different to Dark Souls but not by as much as Bloodborne.

IMO it sucks because it has pathetic range for healing cooperators, not because of the amount of bullets used or the amount of healing done. A lot of people still seem to think it will heal your cooperators even from across the boss arena, but really they have to be standing basically right next to you, within range of the glowing white balls
