By default it would be both fun and viable, even if it wasn't in the previous game.

I would bring back the Gyrm Greataxe. It's some of the most fun i've ever had with a weapon. It's also Elder God Tier in DaS2, except the range.

Playing DS2 for the first time, I keep getting hit while rolling, not like actually taking the full hit and getting stunned, but taking half damage from behind while the boss clearly didn't make contact with me. I didn't have any issues with this whatsoever throughout the entirety of DS1. Am I crazy or are the hitboxes shit? Is it worth leveling that skill that increases your iframes? I've started using a shield over rolling because I can't seem to dodge everything 100% anymore.

It stood out the most for me against The Lost Sinner, despite me rolling past his sword model while stabbing every time, his hitbox would still track through and make me take partial damage, and it happened on the Pursuer a little bit as well with his jumping attack and rolling to the right of him.

What's the best weapon for a hexer to use?
So far all I use is the maxed out fire longsword. It's been working quite well. And the shield was the 100% physical damage block knights shield. Most of the time I use spells, but sometimes I like to use melee.
Do hexers also have a weapon like those sorcerers do in the moonlight longsword?

You could use the Dusk Crown ring for the second slot to stay in the RTSR range longer with PW active. I think you also need to be cursed, curse and the Dusk Crown ring reduce your HP by a percentage, which also affects PW.

I'll forgive you this time since Hexer stats are the same as Pyromancer stats, but gods damn people need to realize that that there are better weapons out there.

There are a few options, Roaring Halberd, Silverblack Sickle and Silverblack Spear with Darknight Stone infusion are the most obvious ones. But the one you really want is Nito's Great Popsicle of Chunking, use an Ascetic on the Rotten and pump your Str to 20.

The HP drain from Power Within rounds to the nearest whole number of hit points per second, so if you can match that to the HP gain per second from the Sanctus (approximately 1 per second-technically two hp every two seconds). Raw Black Dragon weapons for element resistant enemies and bosses
Crypt Blacksword and Sacred Chime Bell Hammer both do ungodly damage, you'll need 20 STR to twohand them though
Dark Bandit Axe or Battle Axe is a good early choice
Roaring Halberd hits like a monster truck but has low durability and a small sweet spot

If you fully Hollow yourself and use the Binding ring, you'll take a 25% HP penalty, but will be able to use the Forlorn weapons which deal massive bleed and dark damage.
Infuse the Greatsword with Bleed and the Scythe with Dark

Anything you infuse with lightning, magic, dark, fire will do good enough damage, but anything without base elemental damage will have lower scaling yet higher base damage

Nope. DaS2 two-handing is different from two-handing in the other games. You only need to meet 50% of the Str requirement rather than 67%, but the trade-off is that it still treats your Str scaling as if it's the actual number shown rather than giving you a bonus.

This is what Miyazaki fucked up, in DaS2 there's actually a reason to go up to 40 or even 50 Str, rather than just sitting at 27/40 like in the other games.

Alright so I'm just coming back to DS3 now, last time I played was when dark sword was the most OP thing in PvP.
Now I see way more people using great and ultra great weapons, but since they're so slow, you're not gonna get hit by them unless you have shit reaction time, or somehow get roll-caught.
The only way anyone ever gets any hits in is by trading, so is PvP just about having the most AR possible?

hex builds aren't a thing, this is not dark souls 2. dark blade only scales with faith and crucifix only gets relevant scaling from faith. they are both optimal on a pure faith build with non dark miracles like lightning arrow.
the only other good dark magic is black flame and snake, which scale the same as every other pyromancy.

Ive tried a 45 faith 35 int crucifix dark pyromancer but the build is squishy and cant afford to stack poise or health to make proper use of the crucifixes power. and the lightning arrows do half the damage as my 60 faith build.

Part of that is because he's literally the only mandatory boss that you have to beat in order to get the crown. Sunken King had you fight Elana and then Sinh back-to-back, and Ivory King had you beat Aava in order to get to Alsanna and then do a collect-a-thon to reach Burnt Ivory King.

I liked Elana's fight a lot because you had to fight through the entire ziggurat to reach her, even if there was no real preamble the presentation was good. Not quite final boss, but there was the feeling of finality.

The knives stagger so they can be good for advancing enemies or forcing a roll towards you (which you then punish with an R1).

They can actually do a nice amount of damage, I feel like they should be used at close range but due to lolnohyperarmor and latency that's impossible.

Alternatively if you spam it to make the opponent feel overconfident you can easily get a punish R2 follow up.

and of course as a simple finisher like a throwing knife.
