The neat thing about that map is that you can stop whenever you want to. Though you have to pull the kind of bullshit that can clear the inital mob in 2 turns to be allowed to challenge the harder shit. You only need the initial rout to get the Katarina Einherjar I believe.

Once you get to the point where you can curbstomp that initial group, you get to pick your poison and determine which set of reinforcements out of 2 sets you want to face if you decide to keep fighting on occasion.

Also the only reason those guys found it easy was because they probably grinded for months getting EVERY possible skill on all their units before even daring to try it. At least that's what I did, though I was training a team of Einherjar for months while waiting for this shit to come out that I didn't even use for this map since I thought the support bonuses from allies would be too important.

My favourite Hard Mode Echoes Map is the one where you start in a Poisonous Bog which deals 5 hp per turn as a Shaman on the other side of the map on a healing tile spawns 3-4 Dragons every two turns, more than likely you attacked him on the map with Dragons already there, so you have 4 dragons attacking you by turn 2 followed by the summoned ones on turn 4. And there's archers and I think Dread Fighters rushing you.
Most of the early game is easy though.

The guy in question was going so smooth that he was attacking Generals with melee brave weapons and still succeded, when they have that damage reduction shit from melee and should be rather attacked with magic. Seriously, how can I even compare?

Awakening is my first FE game and I loved it until now. After so much grinding and STILL not being able to beat that map, Im slwoly starting to hate it instead. But if I give up now, it will hunt me for months, possible even longer - that game beaten me.

At moments like this, I wouldnt even feel bad for utilizing "unfair" solutions like when I did infamous "powershifting" while playing Mordheim on PC.

Statistically it shouldn't make any difference, except for that I don't have to deal with possibly getting a 5* focus Sophia or some shit like that. Just getting a 5* doesn't mean much if that 5* isn't worth much. By rolling only blues in a banner where the only blue 5* focus is Effie, that means that I have a base 3% chance of rolling just 5* Effie from the start.

In fact, if you roll an orb that has no focus character in that round you would actually be lowering your chances of rolling a 5*.

The whole point to that challenge map is throw a bunch of shit with Lunatic+ tier skills at you, but make it so you could still have ways of beating them if you organized your team properly.

Lunatic+ Awakening is probably the most unfair difficulty in the series because the skills are randomly distributed instead of organized in a way that they can be dealt with like in Apotheosis, it's notorious for sticking people in unwinnable situations if they haven't gotten to the point where they can grind infinitely for max stats and all the best skills for everyone.

While Limit Breaker is not necessarily a must for the first wave, you DO need things with absurd speed and offense for stats on both sides to do well against the enemies there, since they all have inflated stats. Vengeance is commonly abused since it has an absurd activation rate, if you can get skill to 50+ on someone through skills, pairups, or tonics, it'll always proc, and combined with Vantage you can ensure being able to do enough damage to take out certain threats before they can even attempt to damage you. Alternatively you can try Nostanking(especially if you have copies of Aversa's Night), but depending on what you're facing that can be a bit more risky to pull off. These "tactics" are well documented and don't take a significant amount of effort to pull off, so a lot people probably spread around the idea to the point where everything seems easy because everyone uses this shit.

I absolutely love trpgs, and I've heard so many speak so highly of this series. But, I have to ask why the plots are those most basic anime garbage? Why are the relationship storylines the most underdeveloped dating sim fantasies?

Actually, rather than ask why, I guess I'm more wondering if the previous games in the series are like this? When I got into the series I was hoping for more political intrigue and tense philosophical quandaries. The two games I've played so far seem more like the characters are fully aware that they were made for nothing more than warfare. The 'stories' are just "They're evil, but we're good and cute. Haha, killing is so fun with friends!"

There's a large enough cast in this that if you're willing to spend all your orbs on summoning as many heroes as possible, you'll be able to put together a team you'll like, and find a way to make them work.
