The axe has the coolest looking moveset in the game. IMO it's the best looking weapon to fight Gehrman with because the varied moveset makes it like the hunter's own unique counterpart to Gehrman's scythe; it even has the same kind of double-spin attack that Gehrman is always using (the player's burial blade cannot do that, and when you use it against him you just look like a slow copycat of him with worse moves even though you have the same weapon)

Laurence Update-- finally beat him by using Bolt Whirligig and spamming Accursed Brew. Wow. That was intense.

After having beaten every non-chalice boss by myself solo finally, I can safely say Ludwig is the hardest boss in this game. He took me well around 30-40 tries, while OoK and Laurence took 7-8 tries each.

Hitler is the general strength build. I checked the meta level, then played first time blind. Axe, Amy Arm, Boom Hammer along with double sprayer for the vermin.

David bowie is my madman build, Quality. Running around in the most skintight fashion, wielding the Cleaver, BoM and Steak Dinner.

Beastly Wizard is just that. Though unfinished atm (I keep two builds running at once to not get bored with one) He will be 99Arc, rest End. When I beat Lawrence, I'm gonna equip the Beast rune for frEEEEEEEEs instead of popping a few QSB's for each REEE, as well as faster run speed/ longer roll to boot. Very frustrating against some of the more aggressive bosses as the Wizard has no health. None. Nada. Might put claws on depending how I feel later about investing in to END after I get to 99 ARC.

Oh and if you dont have a Hitler build in a FromSoft game, there is something wrong with you. Mao, Stalin or Ghengis Khan are acceptable alternatives.

Generally, Laurence's shit is so delayed that for his really dangerous attacks, you should wait until you are sure it's going to be too late, THEN dodge (and the timing will be perfect).

I always fight him locked-on (to his torso of course), but I've had good success fighting unlocked too. When he's a clericbeast, it's important that you get a heavy-hitting weapon and smash him with a lot of powerful R2 / L2 attacks into his arms - he will start flinching hard with every hit. If you keep doing it you can stun-lock him for like half the fight.

When he loses his legs, you have to be very careful and always give him some space. Dodge his swipes, then go in for a running/jumping heavy attack, then back away and repeat. Beware of his attack where he slams his arm straight down, looking exhausted: he usually has a super-dangerous followup strike that comes very quickly after it. Strafe left and lead him in a circle when he does his crawling combo at you. Do charged R2 attacks on him when he shits / barfs lava, but don't get greedy with any R2 followup attacks or he will bodyslam you.

You can also try Ihyll Watchers for triangle offshapes, but it's easier to make Isz.
Either way, Lower Loran is worth it for the stamina rune.

I dont bother with the jump cheese during the first two phases. She kills you too easily with stomps and scratches, and her AI keeps getting fucked up and she stops jumping. Just use the burial blade or hunter's axe big vertical swings to hit her head from the ground, in-between her (very easy to dodge) frontal attacks. Once the arms come off, do nothing but jump cheese

best place to get radial ARC gems is from Isz Bone Ash Hunters. They are +23.1%. Wear the Eye 3 rune so that she always drops a gem because they are still annoyingly rare. You can find a BAH facing the wall and ready to be backstabbed right outside the first lamp in this glyph: cb7jig9p

Triangle +27% arc gems are very easy to get from Isz Watchers, but getting the same gem as a radial from Ithyll watchers is like one in a thousand.

There are no good waning arc gems but I'm sure you know that
