I think it was nerfed in one of the recent patches, but magic is still fairly powerful but it's definitely a lot more of a buffing sort of thing. I can only think of one offensive spell and it requires a high amount of familiarity with a weapon and it's still not good. It's mostly stuff like damage boosts, defense boosts, straight up nullifying damage, defense downs etc.

You don't have to go out of your way to tell the others to fuck off on Valentine's, but you do have to ignore the texts of whoever you don't want to spend the day with. The following day they find out you're in a relationship with others and get mad at you in a brief scene, but there are no actual penalties gameplay-wise, and you don't miss out on any story scenes.

There are three other games but you don't need to play any of them in any order since each have separate stories they are PC only I believe. The first two are free on the developers website and the third game is pretty cheap.
Momodora 3 is fun and sill cute, I've replayed it a few times but once you play RutM you won't want to go back, Its the best of the 4. 1 and 2 are really nothing special.

Frankly this is correct. The Chinese and Korean versions don't even have dubs, and use the JP dub + the same subs. Not only is everything crucial subbed, but almost everything that's not crucial like dungeon dialogue, everyday chatter, and all NPC dialogue is subbed.

there's a lot of time spent in dungeons, but they're handcrafted and really fast to go through battles, so it doesn't feel like a grind, at least to me. it's not like a generic hallway, they're actual locations, like museums, banks and shit.
but I wouldn't hesitate to say at least 40 hours was spent outside of dungeons in my playthrough, in the cutscenes and side story stuff.
