Not really. Armor can be broken down into a few general materials, limit selection to reasonable colors for each and have dyes for the materials.

Cloth dye:
Most color variety. Would recolor the cloth on an armor. Give it a decently sized palette to choose from.

Leather dye:
Recolors leather bits on armor. Choices: Light brown, Brown, Black (shiny), Black (matte).

Metal:
As above. Visual options: Silver, Steel, Rust, Gold, Brass/Bronze, Stone, Blackened.

So here is the way to set difficulty for midir

Easy mode: Anytime you solo him after you have beaten him once
Medium mode: Fighting Midir for the first time
Hard mode: Fighting Midir with two phantoms

then just add more phantoms to increase the difficulty. Once you add extra players (especially ones who don't know what they are doing) his AI becomes really unpredictable, and this can get especially bad if there is high latency (obv).

Very few nice dex/faith weapons unfortunately, so you'll probably have to find a pure dex weapon and settle with buffing it. Best dex/faith weapon I can think of is probably Sharp Dragonslayer Axe buffed with Lightning Blade, and you aren't going to get the best damage out of that.

Faith is definitely the best for just mixing a little into your build. With only 5 points in faith you can pick up miracles like Tears of Denial

Bloodborne did this right, by killing an enemy it's corpse falls to the ground and you scavenge some supplies off it, not hilariously strip him of his trousers, and why would you take his shitty pitchfork anyway when you have workshopped tools to use?

In BB every piece of armour and weapon is found within the world without any grinding required. You find where it is and pick it up.

Dark Souls 2 is the opposite end of that deep spectrum, where you have 1 uber rare armour piece attached to a black phantom that cannot be respawned without killing the fucking boss over and over again.

You know whats really fucked about gems system in BB? Ability to share dungeons, 27% gems from first bosses and no bell maidens on every floor. Without ability to share dungeons you will forced to make your onw RNG hell. Yeas, no more fast lvl 3 runes. 27% gems are cancer. 24% from last bosses are enough. I'm not retarded enough to get hit by it when I'm normally a caster. The problem with the weapon is that they have massive range, damage and hyperarmor. Generally the only ways to deal with them is through passive spell spam, something that can outrange it like the RK Spear, or something with Quickstep/Perseverance. The entire meta is being bent around this one weapon and it isn't healthy for the game.
