Before he starts his lazer shit, you blows wind at you which you can dodge and then run to him.

i've trashcanned my arena rating from gold to bronze trying to figure this fucking thing out

the r1s feel like the worst thing ever, if anyone just rolls around you they just fire off in random spastic directions. the L2-R1 charge tends to go flying passed my opponent half the time, and i can't figure out what the fuck the L2-R2 is trying to do other than staggerbait into the aforementioned shitty r1 hits

the jump attack is swooce, b ut holy FUCK the rolling R1 feels absolutely awful

is the roll poke supposed to block damage at all? the whole animation has the shield protectively raised to the chest, but i'm getting smacked out of it every single time

literally 40 vig, 40 end, 40 str, 40 dex just to try this thing out

Running R2s are your best friend. They're the only way to trade with the huge weapons.

Normal R1s reserved for trading with smaller weapons, up to GS I think. Don't use the roar, it's a style move more than anything. The stance thrust has some good range, try to catch running attacks with it (not big weapon running attacks tho, you might get pancakes). It's been a while, but I've had good success with the Valorheart when Ashes came out.

DESU I just liked using the space launch on NPC invaders, and as a follow-up on high HP enemies that I get a backstab on. Only reason why I could still move afterward was because of Chloranthy. Guess it isn't the end of the world though, BKGS still does shitloads of damage normally.
