Yoshimune Kouki's writing works in such a way that most things are telegraphed a mile off and you're pretty damn sure you know exactly what's coming, and when it arrives it is actually basically what you expected. But it still hits you anyways.

I think Yoko Taro's writing doesn't work the same way. Overall I think I enjoyed N:A's story more than MLA's, but it's exponentially weaker with spoilers.

By the way if you get hacked during opera fight as 2B time stops too. So it's not only 9S.

Think of it this way.
the actual hacking happens when you're holding triangle and filling up the meter, the minigame you play while time is stopped is only there to determine if you succeed or fail.

During route A all his hacks (aside certain unique hacks like factory power) were instant. But actually getting into hacking sequence takes time both in route A (he usually asks 2B to wait) and route B (pressing and holding the fucking triangle/Y).

I missed a weapon during my first playthrough (Type-40 Blade) and currently on my second play through will I have a chance to get it again?

I wish I didn't know about the delete your save thing in ending e. Going into it blind would make the decision much harder because I would probably just jump right into it instead of waiting until I finish all the side quests. Maybe I should just do it anyway to get the intended experience or whatever.

Alternative was the first VN I read after really learning Japanese back in 2008 or so. It really fucked me up with post-reading/game depression for a long time, but I've learned that I have an attraction to tragic heroines and die, first Meiya and now 2B. Such is life, I guess.

I feel like all of you should replay parts of the game where it takes longer to hack some enemies, like the tanks. Basically you take time to disable the security system by holding the hacking button, which takes time in realtime in game, much like waiting for a decryption program to run it's course irl. After that, time stops and the actual hack takes place in nano/milliseconds, because all the encryption is down.

In the few times you are given extended timers (>20s), 9S is failing and so you can assume his clock cycles are much lower. Thus, they're happening in close to real time.

The only other instance I can think of that breaks these rules is when you're hacking the YoHRa server, in which case, 9S' thoughts are his own thoughts, which can happen in milliseconds. When you look at a word, do you consciously say it? No, you gloss over it but absorb it in next to no time.
