All they actually managed to do was make it really fucking easy for a good player to absolutely stomp new players because going fast completely obliterates the average noob's ability to aim at a target so the low ttk doesn't even matter and only serves to help old players smash a noob with a half second flick of the mouse.

The multiplayer designer for this game was a goddamn idiot. They should've stuck to their guns and never increased the fast as much as they did. They should have removed the slide hopping like they were originally going to, and the "community" of retards who never even played the first game but bandwagoned on the idea that 2 was slower than 1 (it never was) should have kept their stupid fucking mouths shut. Their idiocy helped destroy multiplayer balance and combat flow.

TTK is virtually no different. It's the general combat pacing and verticality that's different. You can go fast in Titanfall 1, but you're not a fucking sonicho tribes methhead launching between buildings and across the map in 3 seconds. The problem isn't the existence of things like grapple, it's that the game isn't properly designed around them. Either for time constraints or map/gameplay designers not realizing just what the hell the things they were adding were going to do to the game.

As it stands a lot of shit in Titanfall 2 needs to be toned the fuck down. It does not have fun pacing, it's obvious that the original gameplay design didn't see players being in the air/on walls moving 30mph 95% of the time - look no further than the existence of ADS in the game and abilities like A-wall, and weapons like the snipers.

The game wasn't designed for this shit, it was designed like a more classical low TTK cawadooty shooter but with optional wall running and double jumping, but they went too far with it. Now the weapons, TTK and map design don't match with the movement options the game gives players. They can either keep the movement but fundamentally change how they approach map and weapon design, or vice versa.
