/lolg/ i need your advice. i always hear that it is best to pick a champion you like/do well with and play them a lot and you will climb. however, what if that champion is never meta and considered a shit champion by everyone else?


for some reason aatrox's play style just kind of clicks with me and i play him well. i think he is fun and i have a solid winrate with him (65%+ at nearly 50 games this season). i am constantly debating if i should just try to find another more meta champion that 'clicks' with me or just say fuck it stick with aatrox. i've climbed from bronze 5 to silver 1 so far and im worried once i hit gold ill stop playing against people who dont know how to deal with aatrox.

Your best bet is probably grabbing frozen mallet and phantom dancer, with fervor mastery and at least 15% attack speed in runes sometimes with liandry, like Ipav.

Then there is going counter boots then visage or randuin or zzrot while grabbing liandry, and guinsoo like Rainman does

You can rush gunblade too, but I dunno about this one.

keep in mind that in most games its expected from you to hardcarry top, and that is extremely hard to do with Teemo. He's between a mediocre and bad position now, when most of times you pray that your team doesn't go full retard in 25 mins. Which is probably not gonna happen.

Don't rush Sheen unless you're remarkably ahead. Phage is much better in most scenarios and gives you brawling power.

Max W first, E usually second, but sometimes you want to max Q second vs ranged champions. ICU says to rush Black Cleaver second but I prefer Blade of the Ruined King instead. Try whatever works for you. Getting a Tiamat item is nice for waveclear as well.

Once you get Triforce you can one shot ranged creeps with your Q. Resetting on minions, E'ing then autoing with W and finishing with Q or retreating with Q is your main combo in lane. Keep an eye out for low HP creeps you can dash to. Also keep in mind that you can use your ultimate to prime creeps, lowering their HP so you can reset your Q on them.

Level 1 you can E + auto a couple times for good trade.

Your W gives you healing so auto attack creeps to potentially survive DoT spells.

Level 4 is a good time to trade vs most champions, you're very strong with level 2 W.

If there are a lot of ranged creeps under tower, activating W is better than using Q to last hit because it uses less mana that way.

Irelia is basically a better Jax in lane that doesn't scale as well, watch ICU if you want good commentary about her and top lane in general.
