What a ridiculous, backwards mechanic. They don't reduce the effects of the epidemic, they don't make the disease clear out sooner, they don't do anything else useful except provide you with 0.00003 technology points and +something opinion with bishops (lmao) at the highest level.

A million ducats and couple thousand tech points after you've built a hospital and upgraded it to level 5 it might prevent the epidemic spreading into your province, or not - halting your development, killing your family if you don't shut the gates, suffering a devastating peasant unrest after they blame the Jews and/or depopulating your province and removing ALL your prosperity modifiers AT ONCE. Fuck this shit.

My Britbong playthrough, latest HPM no cheats or exploits. I regret releasing Rhodesia, it doesn't even come as a puppet. Canada also became GP and I lost puppet status which was annoying.

On an aesthetic level the Cape to Cambodia is pretty pleasing, but the Empire looks really Africa/Asia heavy. I think the only way to get it to look truly good is to Annex the carribean and Guyana, and then somehow annex all the dutch colonies. I think you could do this by breaking the infamy limit in the 1830s and fighting off the coalition wars while Britain is strong and the GP's are weak, adding wargoals to take all of the initial french, dutch and maybe american colonies, then resetting to 24.99 infamy when you win and letting it burn for a bit. You can only efficiently blob if you get lucky, the uncivs don't westernise before you can annex them with that cheap 5 infamy establish protectorate CB you get in the lategame, or the oriental crisis goes in the direction that lets you claim the levant for free. (I don't actually know why that happens)

What game? If you are talking about CK2 you get non-agression pacts from marriage automatically. Alliances last until conditions for the alliance are broken, but you get opinion penalty for calling ally into war.

Alright I think I've done all I wanted with this game. Scandinavia tried to regain Old Norway and in return I freed Finland and made them a vassal. The freed states are now trying to carve territory out of the other freed states that I made through the Peace of London or through rebellions. Transylvania couldn't survive the Empire despite war subsidies, Hesse got annexed by Brunswick, Lorraine lost territory to France in a suicidal war they started and Milan took over parts of Aquelia. Urbino is the only new rebellious state to survive their rebellion, but other revolts have caused the emperor to lose millions of subjects to Milan. France has retaken some of its territory from the Emperor and further spies have been sent to take what's left of the Emperor's French territories and their lands along the Rhine.

In 1759, the Empire in Europe alone had 39.4 Million subjects, with 1.1 Million men in its armies and forts. By 1800, the Empire could have grown to 66 Million.

However their greedy claim to the British throne has reduced them to a third of their manpower and a population ten million below prewar levels. Millions have died across the continent since the War of the British succession, and Europe still burns on 13 years after the war finished. The Old World is finished and is rife with rebellion and mass murder (caused by us I guess). The only peaceful territory remaining is Norway and its holdings on both sides of the Atlantic.
