His origins I don't think is ever explained. He's just a demon from long ago. Feels like a very japanese thing in the way that some entities just exist and that there's a ton of deities. Even the bokoblins and moblins seem inspired by oni.

Aside from that, it's less straight forward with his connection to Ganon(dorf). After Link defeats him he curses him to face an incarnation of his hatred presumably til the end of time. The wording makes it sound like it's a personification of his hatred and not just him. This makes sense given that what's left of Demise is sealed in the MS forever. Some people think it's only for Ganon. Others think the curse is a specific kind of bad luck and is actually setting the series up for more villains that aren't Ganon.

This left me with some pretty decent weapons. I decided to do some exploring and the TALUS WORLD TOUR for rupees, so my weapons are starting to disappear.

How do I get decent weapons back? Is it possible to gimp yourself? IE I won't have high dmg weapons to kill hard shit for high dmg weapons?

Do every gerudo sidequest and you can keep it. It's shitty though, 3 defence, can't upgrade it, makes it so you don't take damage if you get hit by lightning but the rubber suit (or just taking off metal shields and weapons) prevents getting hit in the first place.

WW has the tutorial section, which then leads you to believe you're going on an awesome pirate adventure. BUT NO! the game then TAKES YOUR SWORD AWAY FROM YOU and tosses you into a forced stealth section in a game and in a series that has never and will never be about stealth. Then after this fuckery you're saved by a deus ex machina in the form of a fucking talking boat. However even though the boat was somehow able to get you from the forsaken fortress to the town island, it cant go anywhere else unless you buy a sail. So now you have to dick around a town getting rupees until you can buy a sail and meet up with that jew motherfucker tingle. It's like that bullshit in OoT where you have to buy the shield before Mido's bitch ass will let you go to the Deku Tree, only worse.

Then after you go through all that tedium you're finally all set to explore the high seas! BUT NO! The game FORCES you to sail in a straight line with no deviation to the first dungeon and won't let you go until you complete it. You don't get any "freedom" in this game until about 5+ hours in. This entire game has tricked millions of people into thinking its about freedom and exploration, but its all a sham. The ocean is a flat blue square. There's nothing underneath. Many islands have nothing of interest on them. Several are copy pasted or you just go there once and never have a reason to again. Some have literally nothing on them at all. Cut content everywhere, Jabun just handing you the orb for completing a glorified cannon shooting minigame is a slap in the face, and the triforce chart bullshit is insulting. That ghost ship? Oh you just fight some enemies, just like every other submarine, fuck you.

The game is laughably easy even for a Zelda game. Combat is either mash A or hold R then press A when the QTE prompt tells you to. Oh by the way THIS IS HOW YOU KILL GANONDORF WITH A QTE. Wind Waker is shit and so are the people who defend it.

Not about, but almost every title has had stealth segments. I don't remember any in 1 but for instance LttP had a stealth element in avoiding soldiers even. In OoT you sneak into Hyrule Castle. BotW has one (basically) mandatory stealth section and one optional stealth mission plus a bunch of others that can be solved with stealth if you want.

Apart from that you're completely right though. I haven't played SS as a disclaimer but apart from the DS sequels to WW, WW itself is the worst Zelda in my opinion.

Nah, I like them and they tend to spice up the game rather than detracting from it. They're usually small enough that if you dislike them they shouldn't really be intrusive. WW's DOES stand out in that regard, I'm pretty sure it's the largest stealth segment in any Zelda by a longshot unless there's something I'm missing in one of the Oracle games or something (which all I can remember there is following the subrosians in Seasons but I never finished Ages so that probably has something too, and the subrosian quest wasn't very long) and it's just a drag. Like everything else in WW, it's mostly fluff, you spend a stupid amount of time loading and walking down hallways and if you get caught you don't get slapped on the hand and go back to the last room or something, you get sent all the way back to the jail cell.

They oneshot you even if you have max defence with a high strength defence potion, 30 hearts, miphas grace and a fairy. It's a scripted thing, if they hit you you die, period. I don't know if it's actually possible to kill them, at the time my best weapons were thunder weapons and I tried killing some by parrying them but they ended up out of sync so one managed to hit me during the riposte phase every time. Still, every time I tried I'd get them down to about 25%

Looking at the chart again, if I had to place BotW somewhere, it would really be in the Downfall timeline, well after AoL. There's details in the game that rather hint at Child and Adult, but the overall story of “Ganon has often been fought and defeated only to return later, and now his malice lingers” just fits Downfall best.

In the Adult timeline, Ganon only came back once and was then sealed forever and sunken along with all of old Hyrule. He came back twice in the Child timeline—which is just as often as Vaati returned, and you don't hear him being the villain of any legends in BotW.
Meanwhile in the Downfall timeline, Ganon variously returned, was resurrected, or revived a total of three times, and given how his minions again attempted to bring him back again in AoL, that probably wasn't the last Hyrule had seen of him.
Adult Ganon also died as a markedly sane and human (well, Gerudo) Ganondorf, while Downfall Ganon lost his humanity long ago and usually appeared as the pig demon we know him as.

The convergence argument is still strong—BotW definitely references all timelines and games, and doesn't really give a fuck. It's also set so far into the future and shows such disregard for logical timescales that you could argue that it just blurs the events of all the other games together, mixes history with legend; or that it treats its own past as a kind of Schrödinger's Timeline where all the timelines exist in superposition until the devs eventually make a statement on it, if they ever will.

I like XCX's world a lot, the enemy design and overall alien feeling. BoWT is good but looking at Death Mountain for the 10th time in the series isn't going to be so interesting. I do understand that XCX can have a wider variety due to how combat works so I'm not going to make crazy requests, but I do hope the next game will improve the situation since they will be able to use this engine and give more space to polishing the rest.

Also while I really like the dialogue in this game and how the quest don't really feel like a chore, I do like how side quests work in XCX too, they may be more annoying to do since they're blatant checklists, but their mini plots pay off.

The +18 is factored into the 50, base value is 32.

The 5x shot lynel bow does 160 total damage while your bow does 150, but yours has it concentrated more into fewer arrows with a tighter spread so yeah it's pretty good.
