Relatively speaking, Synchro may very well have been hurt the least from Links. It's really only the Accel Synchro crap that has gotten a hit, but Synchro aside from that crap should still work relatively well in comparison.

Of course this is all still with the understanding that Links will undoubtly reign supreme.
But you must be pretty deluded if you somehow think Synchros are affected anywhere even remotely close to what Pendulums are.

I like Karatula3's scrub league duels.
They're pretty comfy, and have given me some ideas on new decks.

What's the point of link summoning?

Fusion was combining two monsters to make a single monster from your hand and field. Which cool at the time.

Ritual was using your monster levels in the field or hand

Synchro was using your monster levels but had to be exact and on the field and gave your game breaking stuff

XYZ also used monsters with the exact same levels and the material became used for effects.

The Yugioh anniversary movie was made during Arc V's production, causing its budget to be drastically cut. Dinos can handle links pretty well, they can just play less around VFD and more around making lagia to protect conductor who will handle almost any issue that your opponent throws at you. Deck will be better of in link format desu. Plus it can spam out dinos if it wants to make a link anyways.

Maiden was already fucked with it's "summon a Blue-Eyes from anywhere and negate destruction once" shit. It should never have stayed unlimited, but at least it was just one good card so you could find ways to prevent the B.Eyes from coming out/banish them.

Chaos Max is too fucking much. You're telling me that someone at Konami said "let's make a 4000 attack monster that can't be targeted by card effects, make it indestructible by anything but battle or being returned to the deck/hand without being targeted, and then let's also give it not just piercing damage, but DOUBLE piercing damage". Then everyone else was like "Sounds good, but let's keep it unlimited too".

He can literally finish you off alone in 2 turns easily, but nevermind that there's Return of the Fucking Dragon Lords and Maiden and all the other shit they also gave Blue Eyes so there's no way your opponent won't also summon Alternative or something equally awful to compliment Chaos Max.

The only extra deck monsters you make in blue eyes are number 38 when going first or spirit dragon then tagging out to something else. You don't need more than one extra deck monster on the field at the same time.
