Okay, so I just finished Route E and my heart is broken into 1000 piece. That being said, there are a few things which confuse me:

1) Adam and Eve are still alive in the rocket? Where on earth is it going? And why is 9S still on earth even if I chose to go with them?

2) How did the war with the machines end? Did their consciousness just go out with the rocket? Is the world just devoid of robots now and just has androids?

3) What on earth do 9S, 2B, and 2A do now that they're alive with their memories back? YorHa no longer exists and I presume the same cycle repeats.

1) Well the Adam and Eve you knew are dead, but it makes sense that the network would have a backup. It's just shooting into space, might not even hit a planet, if it's aimed at a specific place it's not said anywhere. 9S is still on earth because the pods saved his memory, if anything now there are 2 9S, one on earth and one on the ARK.

2) Because the network fucked off, but that doesn't mean there wont be a new network in the future, i don't think the ark had many machines physically in it, so there are plenty of machines left on earth. Probably.

3) Happiness, hopefully. With the machines and YoRHa gone they can start rebuilding the world, for their sake, not for imaginary humans. That's what i choose to believe, if you want to believe in despair that's up to you.

What the fuck exactly was Yorha's endgame here? Cause that part made absolutely no sense.

In honesty, i don't really think their black box being made from machine cores means much, at least not in this game. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a sequel and turns out that something horrific happens because of it, but in this game things seem to be ok.

The whole point was that there was no meaning behind the war at all and both sides worked to prolong it for whatever reasons.

You get some sidequests that talk about other androids, for example the two resistance members that want 50 grand from you to flee from the war zone.
The area you traverse in game is just a small part of the world.

For whatever reason, YoRHa got trapped in the same logic problem as the machines, they are keeping the war going for no reason at all. Originally the idea was that Androids needed morale to win against the machines, so they created YoRHa and the lie about humans on the moon to make the androids keep fighting, because "everyone needs a god to fight for", however, the secret purpose was also to analyze the data from the war to make better superior androids, and for that reason they have kept the war going.

In Jackass's words, they have kept a war that androids couldn't possibly lose going on for centuries for no real reason at all. And now Jackass is going to find those illuminati androids and execute them for being assholes.

Why was this the best boss in the game, seems almost wasted given that it's a pretty unimportant boss. I know that the game probably didn't have the best of budgets but it's a bit disappointing.

Definitely the weakest "taro game" for me, it lacked the quirk and charm of the last 3 that made me love his writing style. Not a bad game mind you but really not a great one either.

Presentation goes a long fucking way in these games. Every boss other than Simone came across as some random stronger robot or humanoid that just stood still for 70% of the fight.

The final boss was such a kick in the teeth, how it was done was cool with the character switching (not an original concept but still a nice touch) but compared to Brand D DoD3 it just falls super flat. I mean we even had a flight unit and was no reason we couldn't have done a Giant White 2B rhythm boss.

She built the 9S model to be smart enough to figure it out. The whole 9S model/character is a planned false-flag by the Commander to bring YoRHa down. Why would she do it and say those words otherwise?
But that begs the question, where did the intel for the opening mission come from? Remember how 9S references this by saying "looks like this isn't the place blablab I guess even the command gets false intel sometimes". Was it just something YoRHA intelligence found on their own and accidentally started the whole shitshow, planting 2B and 9S in the exact area where Adam and Eve reside. Or did that order come from the machines via council of humanity as well?

That's exactly what they did by letting the machines destroy the bunker. It's basically the 2B/9S relationship on a bigger scale. They wanted to keep 9S (YoRHa) from leaking information about humanity, which is why they assigned a a kind of kill switch in form of 2B (backdoor) to reset the situation. By destroying the bunker every information about the moon server was supposed to be destroyed. There would be no longer a need to destroy their own units in case the secret got out.

1.Most likely backup, you actually fight Eve during a hacking sequence so it's not surprising to see that the network managed to conserve their data. The rocket is going to a new world, it might never land anywhere though. 9S don't physically go inside the rocket, the rockets only have datas about machine lifeforms, humans, androids and earth. So in that ending 9S (and 2B) are both inside the rocket in data form, hopefully travelling to a new world.

2.There are still machines disconnected from the network, so obviously those weren't in the rocket that left Earth and they are not all sane. All the machines lifeforms that were connected are "ded" though.

3.Except for one hiccup the YoRHa plan is a success and will most likely proceed to the next stage. Wich means that a new base will be built along with a new more perfectionned generation of YoRHa androids. With the exact same mission and death sentence.

9S, 2B and 2A will most likely be hunted as deserters by the new generation of battle and extermination units. Reminder that you pretty much do that in a side quest, and those android deserters seemed like they knew the truth about YoRHa.

However since the Network is now gone YoRHa can actually win the war. Wich means that the cycle will ultimately end and the androids will face a huge crisis as they'll run out of ennemies to "protect humanity" from. I think YoRHa deserters will become more and more numerous and it will end up in a war with ResistancexYoRHa deserters fighting against CommandxYoRHa. Not exactly, the biggest issue is words that don't translate well into our language - we don't have a word that means to care for as strongly as the Commander did and they had to match the pacing of the scene so you get "goddamned" a handful of times. It's an appropriate translation.

Nier Automata has a 10/10 dub, one of the best overall. Every character executed their lines perfectly, some dare I say better than their Japanese counterparts - Eve for example.

The fallacy persists. The reason English dubs are often hated by English speakers is because they live in an area spoken in English so every minor flaw the voice actor makes is more pronounced, you are surrounded by English so if a flaw is present - you notice it immediately.

If you can read and speak Japanese, but aren't living in Japan, you aren't surrounding yourself with the language so the tonal and inflection issues won't be as noticeable because the language isn't as socially ingrained into you.

I'm not an english speaker thoug, both languages are foreign to me, my Japanese comprehension is very basic though, but for some reason the voices of characters seemed to be much more pleasant in Japanese to me.

I played Witcher 2 in Russian because polish to russian translates almost directly with all the puns preserved and the acting was great, but had to play Witcher 3 in english because despite better translations the voice acting in Russian and sound work was absolutely abhorrent.

So I dont think I have any sort of bias for or against english, but I just liked Japanese acting in Automata way more. I found Jap voices more pleasant and more duiting their characters, and the emotions seemed to be done better. I dont know about route C/D in english though.

Jap's 9s voice gets the squirming in blood better than the English one. There's more sadness, agony, and desperation in the voice. I'd say that the Jap va puts more extreme emotions into his voice. The English va retains too much of that nerdy Ben 10 voice. His death scream doesn't reach the emotional range from overwhelming pain to pathetic crying at the end.

In short, Jap va has more emotional range than Eng va. Compare the final death cutscene.
