i can't tell if this is bait, but i do think Sonic Heroes is pretty good and up there on the Sonic games. It has a bad rep unfortunately since it arguably started the 'decline' and a lot of people had the PS2 version with its glitches and broken physics.

I legitimately LOVE this game and I don't believe half of that.

Funny enough, I feel like if they put a little more effort into it it could've had a cool segmented story. Have the characters go in different order of levels, intertwining at certain points with the levels rebuilt to fit around how the characters would be going through it. All ending at Egg Fleet.
Like for Team Rose, they'd be following sonic so they'd start in the same place as team sonic but they'd get lost and maybe end up somewhere else entirely where they meet up with Chaotix.

Or Team Dark would start at a more mechanical location like rail canyon and try to figure out where Eggman is, without any leads.

Heroes team gameplay. Done right, I firmly believe the "team gimmick" could be the absolute best way to play as multiple characters in Sonic. It cuts out the middle man and gives you access to Flight and Power abilities from the get-go making yourself feel versatile as fuck.

Also make Cream get kidnapped, give her role to Silver instead.

It's honestly probably 2 and a half minutes too long. If you aren't talking about either Sonic or voice acting in the first 30 seconds, and both of them after the 30 second mark, you're just inviting me to stop watching your video.

Analytical videos are a very different medium than high school papers. You're not looking to fill time or space. You want to punch straight to the point, because the person watching your video has 15 trillion other ways to occupy their time on the internet.

Honestly, think of that 30 second timeframe as a good rule to follow until you develop the skills and confidence to know when you can break the rule. That's what all rules in writing are.

I really like the idea that Tails has the skills of both Sonic and Eggman, with the potential to surpass both in the future. Imagine if Eggman got to Tails first, and became his mentor instead of Sonic? The boost talk this last morning night got me thinking. I was watching some gameplay videos of Super Sonic in Generations, and in my opinion, Tails flying over chunks of the level like that with Boost-Flight is perfect. I think Tails would pretty much have Modern Sonic's core gameplay (with Boost) with the addition of his Flight and such. But, the Boost Gauge is drained when he boosts AND when he flies, and doing BOTH simultaneously drains the Boost twice as fast.

This is the problem that people have, you guys see the Boost and think it's something only Sonic can do. But Blaze proves that wrong, and then you guys use the "Alternate Sonic" thing to rationalize it, and now you're coming up with a weird new idea that Blaze was made for the sole purpose of having an alternate character boost.

At the same time, you can make the exact same argument for the classic games and being able to spin. Rolling and spin dash were made with Sonic in mind, yet they created a fox and an echidna who could do both and run just as fast as Sonic.

Now, this isn't to say that they should go back to the classic mentality or whatever the fuck, just saying that gameplay restraints should be based on whatever's fun, not what "makes sense" for the lore of a kids cartoon animal game. If they want to have extra characters in a boost, they should feel free to use Tails and Knuckles if they want to, as long as they come up with some half-assed rationale to go along with it (and considering two boost games now have it be the result of ancient alien powers, that's not hard to do).

Sonic Rush was supposed to have just 2 playable characters (Sonic & Blaze), from 2 different dimensions, on a handheld console that had 2 screens. Blaze was created to be an equivalent yet alternate version of Sonic's character, she wasn't created just to Boost because of some silly idea that the others can't.
