Cavalry buffs. Hone, Fortify, Ward and Goad Cavalry.
Hone is +4 atk and spd to adjacent cavalry at start of turn
Fortify is +4 def and res to adjacent cavalry at start of turn
Ward is +6 def and res when in combat to cavalry within 2 tiles
Goad is +6 atk and spd when in combat to cavalry within 2 tiles
All stack.
Since you can inherit skills now (move them to another unit), you can build a team of 4 cavalry units, each one with one of those buffs, and with pretty wide coverage.
Cecilia and Ursula are cavalry mages that cover a large range (3 mov with 2 range). The Raven tome gives advantage against colorless and when paired with Triangle Adept essentially turns one of your units into a murder machine of both their normal color advantage and colorless.
Blade tomes are now stronger than ever. Before Nino and to some extent Tharja were popular, but now that you can pass them around it becomes quite insane.
A lot of the subpar cavalry units become incredibly strong when buffs (who knew?) and with a good coverage team you can easily play to your strength nearly every time. Meaning the units you'd normally fear with some weaker cavalry can be taken out by one of your crazily buffed one and then proceed to roll over the rest with all your buffs.

Robin isn't a particularly huge powerhouse. His good side is that he can still kill after being hit once or twice, or rather can get hit when attacking and not suffer as much as those more fragile.
+atk is likely to bring a bit more damage in but with how stat gains are you're unlikely to be able to really compare them accurately until level 35+.

Liliana has one of the highest atk in the game though. It's pretty insane. And Nino really reaches high levels with buffs -you may only need 2 or 3 and she'll destroy everything.
Robin might need a bit more work, like a TA or promotion to 5* to really shine as much.

Robin's stats are pretty much average. They aren't shit like some of the other less fortunate characters who got weird stat distributions (Sophia's lack of speed mean she is doubled by eveyone and they don't need to be too strong to kill her because it's always a double), but they are also not skewed to be amazing like Linde and her amazing speed and attack). The sand thing is, if you want to use Robin, it's actually better to have a spare Linde to merge Robin's weapon onto her. Even better, give her Odin's weapon and buff her to annihilate everyone. In the new Inheritance Meta, stat distribution + high stats are all you need.

Robin just goes from spectacular to very particular niche in killing colorless. Robin just isn't as threatening as he used to be.

+spd Nino is pretty good. +atk Nino is also pretty good, so if your other is that stick with her.
Corrin is a good all-around unit and may see better use than Robin if you're running a lot of mages (especially Nino, as Corrin has Hone Atk which buffs her quite a bit).
Ursula is pretty good but she'd need the blade tome, which you can honestly put on just about anyone (except Odin himself) and make work to some extent.
I'm not that familiar or fond of the other listed characters so I can't say much about them.

She comes with it, and her weapon's warp ability makes it easier to stick her in places where Vantage would actually be useful, and away from places where shit can snipe her. Probably not going to be great for defense teams though. Her base speed reaches a nice 38 so Desperation is probably going to be better with Fury, Defiant Speed or Darting Blow but Vantage is a passable substitute until then.

I mean, you're right, but the power is still marginally on Eldigan's side. The main difference between the two, anyway, is are you trying to defend from a physical hit or a magical one?

IMO, Eldigan is a better fit since full offense you can give him Moonbow or Luna alongside Brash Assault 3 (since he's running Fury 3). You could also make him more defensive by giving him Aegis which cuts ranged damage in half and is near constantly active rendering Daggers and Bows a complete joke and making mages more manageable.

I have both units and love them equally. I will actually be excited and sad for Xander, since I'm afraid he's straight up better as a red sword cavalier.

How hard is Conquest Lunatic?

I beat Birthright/Revelations Lunatic pretty easily, but Conquest Hard gave me a ton of trouble, and I only manage to beat it after a long struggle. I'm reading up on Lunatic and shit like Inevitable end, Hexing Rod Iago, etc. scare the fuck out of me. Is it fun difficult or frustrating and cheesy as fuck? Do not stack with Hone Cavalry/Flier and Fortify Cavalry/Flier and then apply to Blade tomes. It will only take the max buff. If not using Cav/Fly then +4 will be the stat buff that applies, max possible is 12.

As with most things trying to OHKO on initiation, Death Blow is better, but Fury is still the next best option considering it still vastly improves his killing power and survivability.

Eldigan has a very very nice BST spread for an attacker, especially as a cavalry unit. Literally the only other better spread to have is Chrom/Alfonse/Seliph's with their literrally highest tier Atk stats and abysmal speed running Brave Sword+, Death Blow 3 and Brash Assault 3.
