The game is F2P and has no P2W elements. Everything that you can spend $$ on are cosmetics and the founder pack. The game is also based on strategy, since you sometimes have to change and mix your deck and your items to counter your enemies. I'm not saying that the mentioned games don't need a strategy, but in Paladins, if you don't set up your deck right and you play against good players that are not shitters, you will lose, or probably get carried by your teammates sometimes if you are lucky. Communication in this game is key, if you don't work with your teammates, you will lose.

She's not TOO terrible, but the issue is that in a 1v1 where they know you're there, you are going to have a very hard time hitting them because her projectiles are very slow and easily dodgeable. However, if you're abusing blink heal and iceblock, they're going to have a pretty hard time hitting you too. It's not uncommon to get into a Evie vs Evie situation where you're fighting for a full minute before you have a silent agreement to ignore each other.

If Ying is healing 4x more than you, you're doing something horribly wrong. Mal'damba has gourd AND rmb, and is even more reliable than Ying is because enemies can kill Ying illusions, but they can't stop Mal'damba from healing. Because Mal'damba's healing is over time he also gets cucked less by cauterize than burst healers like Pip and Grover.

Yes, it made unlocking stuff harder by diluting your gold with items you don't need. I understand you for hating it but you can't say that Paladins is p2w and you have to play 24/7 to unlock everything. I might be a little biased cause I had a ton of gold but at least for me opening chests is way more exciting than straight up buying cards or items. But if you like the game you will probably switch your roles and heroes a lot and in the long run, it might even be better that you got a lot of random stuff straight out of chests.
