This. It took me 30 minutes to get passed the second tutorial, and once I started playing, even though I was getting my ass handed to me every match, I was still enjoying it.

Eventually I started getting good, and now I'm pretty decent. Not trying to suck my own dick, but I win maybe 85% of the Singles I play. The other 15 percent is down to either me being outclassed by my opponent, or Disc Jam having bad servers.

I've got a weird issue. My wi-fi doesn't work, it hasn't for a few months now.

But, sometimes it does work. Randomly, like 5 hours out of the day, it'll work just dandy and full speed and everything, then suddenly, it shits the bed and can't connect to literally ANY game.

BUT, I can watch netflix just fine 24/7, whenever I want, which is basically all I can do with my PS4 at this point.

Any ideas? ethernet cables aren't an option sadly, or i'd have just gotten one ages ago.

I tried asking comcast, they say it's sony, I tried asking sony, they say it's my internet.

I have, and after spending about 45 minutes talking to someone who didn't know the difference between a cat5 cable and a litterbox they finally hung up on me with "sorry we couldn't help you today, it's an issue with sony and not on our end".

Again, ethernet cables aren't an option, most of the slots I have are taken up by other things far more important than a PS4. And going out to buy another router just for my PS4 seems like a waste, but it's seeming like it's a necessity at this point. I'm just confused as to why it seems everything that connects to the PSN servers, games and the store, and friends lists, etc, all seem to not work, but everything else works. It means that the internet is actually working fine, and it's gotta be either a throttle AGAINST sony services (which doesn't happen when I did try to use a cable just to test, so that doesn't seem likely), or it's something on sony's end that doesn't like wi-fi. I heard the original ps4 (not the slim nor the pro) doesn't support 5ghz and some bands fuck with it too, so that's the best guess I have, just something unfortunate that I can't change either cause it would mean downgrading my internet.

Depends on what your PS3's current firmware is. If it's a relatively new purchase chances are it's not THAT far out of date in terms of firmware, probably well past the point of being able to use CFW.

You've obviously booted it up, if you go around the system menu you'll find some info about it, and it should have a firmware number.

As for if there's a circumstance where it's better to not update, yes, if you want CFW. As for how long it would take, maybe an hour if you've got real shit internet, I can't think of any times I needed to download multiple updates for the system, usually you just get the latest and you're good to go. The installation takes longer than the actual downloading most of the time.

And when they factory reset a system, if it's refurbished from a place like gamestop or best buy/another big box store, they usually update it to the newest, so if it needs an update, that should tell you how long it's been sitting there. That said, I would still check to see the firmware it has, if it's eligible for CFW, you'd be able to sell it for way more than you paid, most likely.

I really wouldn't worry too much about the bricking if you fuck up a download. The way the PS3 handles the updates is it always downloads them FIRST, then installs. If your internet shits out on your it's not a big deal, it's having to worry about your power. And unless you live in like fucking syria or something I wouldn't stress too much that your power is gonna go out at that EXACT moment where it's capable of bricking.

I can't say for certain for ps4, but firmware isn't usually patched, it downloads the whole new firmware and flashes the whole thing. so updating from 1.00 or 3.00 to the latest is the same thing. So you'll most likely just download 4.50 and that's it. software updates for games are different and you will need all of them.

Also when you update firmware on your ps4 you overwrite the old one, there is no way to revert back to older version even if you factory reset the system.

Funny how Gust still didn't fix the ingame gameplay timer when playing on PS4. It shows that I've played 84 hours when I actually have 20-30, the clock keeps ticking on because I keep my PS4 on sleep mode to quickly get back to the game. Sophie had the same thing, makes the gameplay timer worthless.

NieR was my knee jerk answer when I finished it, but I realize a single answer isn't so easy to give. Unlike 2016, every game I play (aside from Psychonauts VR) is something I end up loving: Gravity Rush 2, Nioh, Yakuza 0, NieR. I wanna say GR2 because it holds a special place in my heart, but the camera was a pain in the ass for me.

Snake Pass, Yooka-Laylee, What Remains of Edith Finch, Little Nightmares, Full Throttle Remastered. Don't know if they all have platinum trophies. If the other Tim Schafer remasters are any indication, Full Throttle will be easy as pie. Just need to exhaust the dialogue options.

Since there's no PS3 specific shit anymore I figured I'd ask here.

My PS3 has been acting up lately, as in I'll get signed out of PSN once in a while with a DNS error code and I can't actually reconnect to PSN until I restart my PS3. One of these times it decided not to play nice and told me it straight up didn't detect the ethernet cable hooked up to it, so I rechecked the connections, still nothing, shut down the system for a bit, later got back onto it and it was working fine, up until I got the error about 20 minutes later.

It's been happening more and more frequently over the past few weeks, and I can't tell if my system is just overheating as I've never bothered to actually clean it out, or if something is starting to fail in it. If it's an issue I'm unaware of I'd like to know, or if there is a proper guide for opening up the system so I can clean it without it breaking apart as it's an old fat PS3 from 2008.
