Honestly I like the basic ass soldier ones a lot so far, concussion shot or whatever is pretty chunky and feels good. Flamethrower could be lit but haven't seen it yet. If it's as sick as it seems I will probably roll some kind of tech soldier with tech combos and explosion shit and some gun skills cause I don't have potato aim like 90% of RPG players. Space magic is pretty gay in Mass Effect, has never felt good to me or been that impressive mechanically speaking.

Incinerate is still around, and primes for tech combos, but don't blow off Overload just yet, charging it to hit multiple enemies is pretty cool, and if you catch an enemy out of cover with it they'll be an easy kill as it causes them to double over giving you free damage on them.

Invasion is also great for tougher enemies that tend to be the cornerstone of enemy pushes. Though it seems it's ïnfects other enemies" think is something later in the tree.

I got shield drain for shield replenishment while on hardcore, but enemies are accurate enough that it doesn't really buy much time.

I'm not a fan of the idea of flamethrower or cyro beam though. I suppose I'd need to see their ranges. I like using pistols and smgs, so if they have that kind of range I may try them out. Both will prime for explosions too.

If you reject Jaal he hooks up with PB, already BSN REEEEing about how they don't like that sort of thing and why can't they get rid of PB?

as far as I know, no. You can have as many passives as you want.

Right now it feels like my tech guy's going to mostly use Overload, Incinerate, and Invasion to deal with enemies and soften them up for my team as well.

I don't see a reason to upgrade to something particularly good, my intention was to build something that wouldn't overheat playing the games I used to play. fuck me, even ME1 had better facial animations. the only awkward things I could remember was when you were in a multi-character conversation. the characters that weren't shepard or speaking would awkwardly follow every move of the speaking character's face with their eyes and uncannily turn towards it all the time, but the facial animations were still better than in Andromeda.

are the animations bad? yeah pretty much any cutscene isn't very well made. The writing is below average for a bioware game.
Combat is pretty fun, and if you liked planet exploration in ME1 you'll probably like it in Andromeda.

Why is it not possible to make a good looking male PC in ANY Mass Effect game? In ME1-3 they were just bland potato-faced guys but in Andromeda they are actively ugly. Long faces, shit brows, gross skin textures, 1 preset with a jawline, weird jowly double chins, everyone looks tired and dirty. Pic related, this ugly mouth fucker was the best I could do in the CC after nearly half an hour, and in game he looked even more like shit. His skin was suddenly disgustingly wrinkled like melted plastic.

They had 5 years. They spent 2.5 of them kicking story and concept ideas around (the development equivalent of making paper airplanes and throwing pencils into the ceiling). Then nearly all the old guard leaves because Bioware games are a formula now and no one with talent and experience wants to work under those kind of constraints.

So they higher and taught 200 newish designers how to work in a new engine that wasn't designed for cut scenes and the writers went full SJW.

They would have only had less than 2 years of "actual" work in the project if it weren't for the delay. The game had to have been in such a sorry state that EA couldn't stomach the bad press for making a sequel that was simply not shippable (it had to have been REALLY bad for them to delay it after 5 years of development).

However, as with all things EA, delaying shipping a game means you cull the staff because reasons. So they cut the staff back by an arbitrary amount and gave the remaining staff more time to put the game in a state that won't get EA sued for selling a unworking pile of garbage. The result is only the most heinous crap actually gets worked on because that is the stuff that will end everyone's career.

The awful face animations and clunky character animations are just simply not the worst things wrong with ME:A.
