It was ridiculous, I basically stood right in front of the katana guy and every time he started one of his fancy animations I just poked him once, rinse repeat, he couldn't avoid being interrupted. Ok, I got an idea for my next character, it's going to be heavily PvP based, I was planning on using the Beckoning Bell and summoning a Chime Maiden in EVERY area before I kill the boss. Will this plan actually work if I want to be invaded in non Frontier/Mergo's middle areas?

Do I HAVE to spend one insight to get a cooperator before a chime maiden spawns, or is simply using the bell enough to spawn one?

Last question is will these maidens stay once I stop using the beckoning bell? What happens to them if I kill the boss of that area, do they disapear?

If you reload the game or quit or whatever, you can just re-ring sinister bell and the maiden will come back but killing bosses stops her from spawning in the area. Pretty much stuck with Frontier/Loft as the main pvp areas. Hunter's Nightmare might work too since it has both Ludwig and Laurence but no idea on how invading goes there

It's anywhere between 98 and 117. I prefer 108 as it's in the middle of the two, and don't play public PvP.
Really, the "meta" is moreover for the sake of public invasions to dodge the reddit 150s. If you don't have an interest in public, you have the freedom to go past 98, but should probably stop at the 117, it just gets excessive past that. Some people defend the 98 with their lives, but it doesn't matter all that much if you just want to co-op or play the game normally. You should adhere to the 98-117 for FC, though, just to keep it a little more even.
As for the ladder, I'd think either the ladder from the aqueduct to the area where Viola's daughter is, or the one from the end of the aqueduct where the Saw Hunter Badge and first pig are, to the end of the bridge to the Tomb of Oedon, where the five on the bridge get hit by the flaming ball.

98 is about as barebones as you can get with a lot of builds. I'm the same as you, around 105 for most of mine. 98 gets you main skills and vit to 50, those few more give you breathing room with END, or a few more points to wield a larger variety of weapons. 150 is just retarded.

The Healing Church is a theocratic blood worshiping cult actively experimenting on the populace with alien blood inbred through selected people to keep them quiet and docile while actively not acknowledging how deeply fucking fucked their methods are because blood = beasts, end of. The Church kind of are everyone in the setting. Mensis and the Choir ARE the Church and the only ones actively experimenting with Insight rather than just blood and are carrying on Byrgenwerth's ideals however bastardized. Venerated, not contained. He's referring to Laurence's skull which is the source of all the knowledge about blood healing. As Miyazaki himself said, Laurence died before the church became an important organization and the other vicars used his skull to learn about the blood.

Oh, the actual lengths of time between events is really unclear. Between Laurence leaving Byrgenwerth and the present day, I think there has to have been a few hundred years. I mean, beasts and nights of the hunt became totally normal to the people in Yharnam, the Church Pick is described as a weapon used in 'old beast hunting tales', so this is like folklore.

And I think blood healing is known about and used outside Yharnam. Remember, Valtr chased a beast INTO Yharnam from outside. Yharnam is the centre of all blood healing, so they control it everywhere it might be.

Well, Willem is also in advanced mushroom stage, I don't think he necessarily qualifies as human anymore. He can't even talk. For all we know, he's been slowly growing into that chair for decades, or centuries. It's pretty creepy, honestly.

The only weird thing is we get the Pick from some dude in a Yahar'gul set locked in a cell, but for all we know, that poor fool got stuck in here like we did.

Keep the Reiterpallasch out, its gun mode doesn't scale well with Blt, whereas a fully upgraded Bowblade has S scaling on Blt.

And Bowblade/Rifle Spear is a great combo. Untricked Bowblade is good when you need fast swipes, tricked Bowblade brings the ranged damage, and Rifle Spear is good for everything else.
A lot of people will tell you that if you go pure Blt you don't need the Skl investment, but it works well enough. Maybe it isn't as optimized as it could be for PvP, but do you care?

If you use it correctly, boy is it good. To use it correctly however you'll at best need 50Str, 25Skl and 50Arc.
Also you'll need to take time out of your schedule to get Nourishing Gems for it because the Arcane portion of its damage is too important to not buff it.
Its tricked R2 sends out a sword wave and you can hit the enemy with both the weapon and the wave, which can easily deal 1000 damage.
It's a damage monster, but you need to invest into it.

Works well. It even lets you use the Bloodletter well once you get it. And Bloodletter/Chikage/Gatling/Evelyn are all fantastic which it, which are all the weapons that matter.

No such thing which makes the game great. Pick your faves and develop your stats accordingly and you can make it work.

Some people swear by the Chikage and yes, a good Chikage/Evelyn build can decimate everything quickly but that's very high risk.

The high damage was mostly just the serrated weapon + Beast Blood Pellets. Whirlgig Saws on STR builds + BBP are even better, but SKL makes for some pretty explosive visceral attacks.
Definitely look into BBPs for crazy damage. They're a great deal of fun to use.

Don't go to frontier unless you have korean gems from chalices. Most players are going to be higher level AND have better gems, while you'll still be hitting them for around 100 damage a hit.
Stick to invading for now. Willem's Burgers is a good place for that, always easy to find the host, the flowerbro provides excellent fire support and besides most hosts you encounter will be walking around with Madaras, and he's pretty easy to deal with. Dont hesitate to pop a beast blood pellet to increase your damage output even further. Sadly that's all I can recommend myself, I'm a newfag as well.
Also damn, get more vit. I'm level 65 and I have 40 currently, no wonder duelfags are removing 50% of your hp bar per hit.
