That shit's more useful than weapon statistics that tell you x gun is 95/100 accurate, or even the more specific CoF and recoil stats. Average player statistics tell you what players are actually managing IRL circumstances with the various weapons.

Holopilot is so rare that people fall for it 99% of the time.

In the incredibly rare instance that people don't magdump into the pretty light show, you can still exploit the time they waste hesitating to fuck them sideways.

Scorch is great tier.

Once you figure out how to play him, he's devastating. I run with Turbo engine and extended fire shield.

You just have to give no fucks with him. Close distances, cut off their retreat paths with incendiary traps and fire walls and get in their face with fire wall.

You also have to be mindful with his ulti, it's very situational.

Also, there are some maps where scorch just gets fucked by wide open lanes. Forward base and crash site are kind of shitty for Scorch.

You just pointed out how it's situational. It's best used in a relatively open area where the wave won't be interrupted against targets that you've already whittled down for at least the one guaranteed kill.

It goes over stuff, just not around corners. It doesn't really require an open area to function. And I guess it's "situational" in that you need any enemy titan with less than 2 bars of health in front of you to obliterate. Or 2 titans/pilots/reapers that you just want to do damage to because it does near instant damage to all targets in range.
Then again, I guess all weapons and abilities are situational because they require an enemy in front of you.

not true, it works just fine. all you have to do is time your dashes, and this has become even easier with the recent buff to stryder titan dash recharge times. if you get pushed back, dash forward and hit melee almost right after dashing. your sword has a longer range than regular titan melee so the attack will connect. if the enemy keeps punching(if theyre even alive at this point still), just rinse and repeat.
punching a ronin in sword core is the worst thing a titan can do against it.

i dunno, maybe your timings are off. ive really never had this problem. keep in mind that sword core swings do 2200 damage which is quite a lot. shouldnt take more than a few swings on anything but an ogre chasis to doom/destroy them.
maybe try popping a smoke when you are in their face. either theyll move out of it, giving you some room to do damage, or stay in and receive another 1k or whatever damage it does.
firing an arc wave never hurts either. itll mess up their vision and does more damage in sword core

I definitely have to agree, I've actually been in a fist fight against a legion as ronin and had the enemy titan knock me back every time I tried to melee him. Meanwhile my sword was literally out of range every swing because of the knock back from it.

The problem isn't the punch itself, but that knockback effect that puts the ronin's sword out of range. Remove or lessen it so Ronin's still in melee range and it'd be less of an issue.

That said, I'm also really shit with Ronin.

use your dashes. they recharg almost instantly in sword core. as soon as you get punched, dash forward and swing half a second after you hit dash. you have longer reach with your sword so you dont need to be in their face to connect.
throw arc waves and dash to the side; this will slow their turning and allow you to get damage in.
now that stryder dashes all recharge at the same time, turbo engine or not, turbo engine benefits swordcore tremedously.
