From a gameplay standpoint, Dew is a better husband for Bridget than he is Aira. Sunlight Sword and Bargain are a lot more valuable for Patty (who is also a thief and is weak at first) than they are for Aira's kids, who are very powerful right from the moment you get them and don't have high weapon maintenance costs. They are easily the best candidates to inherit Moonlight Sword, which is something you definitely want to be passed down if possible.

From a story standpoint, Holyn is actually Aira's childhood friend from long ago. It makes much more sense for her to choose him or Lex (Aira/Lex is basically proto Lyn/Hector) over Dew.

The modern incarnation that has become popularized with new fans worldwide has been so far away from the concept of console iterations that the narrator in the direct had to make specific mention that the Switch game would be the first console FE in over a decade. Number of entries doesn't mean shit compared to the focus driving the franchise right now.

And even then, guess what? Switch can be taken on the go too, that's one of the selling points, so I don't expect the 3DS era design mentality to go away with FE Switch.

It's mainstream because of the features brought about in the mobile game, awakening, and fates. That's the new market and The remake effectively guts all of those features. Whether you like them or not isn't the issue, IS has been delievering pizza for the past three years and when the new consumer base orders a pizza with the remake they are going to get a sandwich. Its blurry different and it will be received poorly on comparison to the other games because what the majority wants has changed and the console is no longer new with limited game options.
