No that's not it. I've seen syrian culture province go to egypt over syria, both had cores. And in central asia I've seen a province arbitrarily change over a year, like in january it would've gone to timurids, then in december it would've gone to kazakhs.

I want to make a mod for persiaboos/zoroastraboos. I wouldn't make it very memey either, and I'd fit it in to all the stuff for iran HPM already has. Zoroastrianism after the qajar dynasty was much more tolerated and even respected by intellectuals as a sort of nationalist thing, and I think that would do well in vicky. I think how I'd have it work is that from the start there's a qajar zoroastrian oppression modifier or something, but if you reform to completely constitutional monarchy or have a revolt to that end or a republic or whatever, you can get rid of the modifier and have one that works in the opposite way, slowly boosting zoroastrian numbers and increasing militancy for reactionaries. Iranian fascists were pro-zoroastrian, so if you have a fascist revolution you can flip it to your state religion and have people convert to it automatically en masse, with the justification that the people you autoconvert are already fascist ideology, or like secularism, or something like that.
If you became a theocracy of course you'd keep that oppression modifier and you could just be like modern iran I guess.

Which formable nation has the best provinical, national or ruler modifiers?

Prussia has Prutenic Tables which decreases idea and tech cost by a lot until ruler death, so forming Prussia as a formable nation with an immortal ruler seems very good.

Are there any others that are especially good?
England and Netherlands has some stuff I guess.

I guess forming Prussia and then forming England/Netherlands is the way to go, unless there are some better modifiers tied to other formable nations.

I've been trying to get into EU4, and I'm having massive trouble understanding when I can actually win a battle.

Battles that in EU3 would have been clear victories for me almost every time I now lose just as consistently. Even if I outnumber the enemy in a defensive battle with the same tech level and without them having more of either cavalry, artillery, or infantery, I still end up losing. Sometimes it's been as much as a 4:1 numerical superiority, and they've still won.

The only common elelement I've found is that they've usually had better generals than me. Are generals just that OP in EU4? And if so, how on earth am I supposed to compete with anyone after a few years of peace when my tradition is low?

Provinces that are territories have a minimum autonomy of 75%.

Autonomy multiplies how much you get out of everything* in the province, with 100% autonomy you don't get any tax, manpower, production.
With 50% autonomy you get half.

If you state a province the minimum autonomy goes down to 0%.

Estates demand a % of your stated development, so as you state more they'll demand more provinces, provinces with Estates have a mininum autonomy of 25%, but they ignore the autonomy penalty for some things depending on the estate.
Burgher ignores production and trade power penalties from autonomy, nobility manpower, clergy tax.

For every frontline unit the best case scenario is to have a cannon behind them. A regiment of artillery gives half it's defensive pips to the unit in front and increases the fire phase dramatically.

That will quickly bankrupt you though. At the start of the game when cannons are in their infancy just have 1 for sieges. A trade nation can easily have obscene amounts of artillery though.

Up and until military tech 18 there's no point in having more than 2 cavalry per stack. If you come up against a 20 stack, match it with 20 infantry and 2 cavalry. Cavalry do zero to little damage in the fire phase but immense amounts in the shock phase. If they are flanking (ie, they don't have a unit opposite them) they will take no casualties and do free damage. Reinforcements for cavalry will also bleed your shekels dry.

There's no ratio really.
The optimal amount of Artillery is equal to the combat width of the battle.
Not cost effective as soon as you have artillery though.

Flanking range increases and cavalry usuaully deal more damage than infantry. It goes up and down as you increase in tech.

Early on you want a minium of 2 cav since they reach longer than inf, but you'd most likely want 4 cav.
Infantry can flank by 1 on each side at the beginning, while cav can flank by 2 on each side, but since cav deal more damage and flanking units generally don't take damage it doesn't cost so much to reinforce them you can go with 4 cav.

If Paradox ever make new games or even Crusader Kings 3, now that they are a lot richer and bigger than before, do you think they will spend more time and money on base games?
Because in the case of CK3, it would be hard to sell a game as barebones as vanilla CK2 and I'm not sure they would end up with more contents with the same amount of DLCs.
Honestly the only way to avoid The Sims syndrome (You must buy the 124 expansions for each new entry in the series but you don't end up with more contents in the newer games) would probably to have a fundamentaly game and the equivalent of 3-4 expansions in the base game.

By manually integreated, means you must copy paste the contents of one mod's files into the main file. If you're just downloading one single file, then it can be released as the vanilla file with the additions in there. But if you want different mods together, you'll have to add them together by hand.

Still, I'm not sure that's really how it works, since the location and name of the file doesn't matter for other content, such as events. Should be the same for societies and such.
