Our group had two sources of magic blink, Faris BSB, and Snow used Gaia's Gross to draw most attacks to him, among other things. His sleep attacks weren't too troubling, and Firion's instant magic blink was able to block his dispel bullshit. Our group just made it feel really easy to bap Raines in both difficulties.

I think of it as a lost art style. It suffered in the same sense that modern pixel games are suffering from low resolution sprites. FF7 is a masterpiece of low poly, minimal texture art. I don't think anyone could or will ever make a better looking game in the same style.

FF9 used plenty of textures, and now it looks more dated than FF7, while suffering from longer loading times.

Personally, I think it was really interesting. The purpose I assume is to drive home the sci fi setting. In context, I think it was great. That game's representation of Alexander is pretty fucking cool if you ask me. You never hear about Alexander as a summon but being a literal castle wall to defend people is some good shit desu. If only he wasn't attached to the worst 13 character who can't defend anything though. Fan translation is correct, although I don't know why they called the tree "Master Tree", its name in Japanese is more like "Elder Tree". It's the oldest tree in the forest, that's all. GBA version made it sound like Galuf was only using the tree to speak, but he was using the tree to pass on his powers. PS1 version reads like shit as expected. Also both the PS1 and GBA added dialogue onto the scene for some reason.
I haven't been posting about translation differences because almost every difference is just the GBA making things sound more silly. I can estimate that around 80-90% of the silly dialogue in GBA is completely made up, with no attempt at silliness in the coinciding Japanese text. I wonder how people's opinion on FF5 would change without the silliness, since it seems that's what a lot of people like it for.

Gilgamesh boss in gladiolos episode is 3 stage.
First you fight with one hand.
Second he takes over body of Cor.
Three he uses armiger and fights with six arms.
In three you must not fight him, but build up rage bar high and unleash Gladios strongest attack, Ultima Blade. After fight you get Blade of the Master it is his first sword and if Noctis use it has a special warp strike ability that throws smaller enemies into the air for air combo.
