Yennefer loves Geralt, there is no doubt there. She might be brash at times, but her loyalty and love for him are unquestionable.Also, in the books, Geralt only loves Yennefer. That's just how things are and that's a fact.

Geralt and Triss had a one night stand and Triss fell head over heal for him and tried getting it on with him again, often coming off as pathetic and lacking self respect. Geralt does care for Triss a lot and shows that on several occasions, but he only see her as a friend and he tries to turn her down as gently as possible. Still, Trissfu is mad about him, but in the books, she doesn't have a chance.

Games however, are whole different story :3

I did one Yen run, it was OK I guess, I don't have anything against Yen, but I simply like Geralt and Triss much, much more. Their interactions, chemistry and romance are far more to my liking and I quite enjoy seeing Geralt get all cheesy and romantic with Triss. To me, he just seems and acts so happy with her.

I prefer how he behaves around Triss compared to how he behaves around Yen. Some anon said this in one of the previous threads and I liked it. Around Triss he acts like a lion, around Yen like a dog. No disrespect to dogs or lions, both great animals :3

I also like the ending with Triss better as it leaves more options open for Geralt, he still takes an occasional contract, they have their friends visit them, they have two houses, it's pretty much perfect ending I wanted for my Geralt.

The combat isn't god awful. As far as RPGs go I'd actually say it has one of the better combat systems on awful.

I'd actually argue that mechanically it's very good. You're rewarded for good timing and reflexes and it feels weighty enough. There just isn't a whole lot to do with it and it's pretty barebones. You're doing the same stuff 2 hours in that you'll be doing 20 hours and at 200 hours in.

I enjoyed TW1's combat more than TW2's, but TW3 fixed the combat to where I enjoy it.

I kind of wish they'd kept the three stances of sword fighting that Geralt used in TW1, it was neat having to use different ones for different situations, and it was fucking hilarious fighting like 15+ nerds with griffen stance, especially when it was pretty much fully upgraded by the endgame. Geralt became the human blender.

I think the first game's system is really unique and there was probably a way to make it good. Like maybe you'd have to tap the parry button every time an enemy hits you while you're performing an attack to stop them interrupting you. Go full rhythm game with it.

I agree. I never liked Fringilla in the books, but she would be perfect for Toussaint. Her cameo is wasted on the main story. Her role could have been played by Sile and she could have been saved for the expansions. This way, she remains one of the most underused characters.

Also, considering her history with Geralt, she could have been a nice side romance, unlike Syanna who's sex scene feels out of place and just added there for the sake of Geralt having someone new to fuck in the expansion.

I don't really come here often, but I really need some help, and I figured this was the best place to ask:

I'm getting close to the end of TW3, and I'm having an absolute blast. But I just installed HoS, and now I've started getting ten second loading screens at the start and end of every single cutscene (even the super short ones that are just Geralt getting off Roach or walking up to a merchant), and it's making the game nearly unplayable.

My specs are okay, and I've never had any problems with this until after I installed HoS. Does anyone have a similar problem, or any tips?

Once again he defeated Nilfgaardian army, but during celebration of victory unexplained events lead to riots between joined armies, and the feared king was assassinated in mysterious circumstances.

Emperor Vhooris, facing ferocious oposition accusing him of leading the Empire to disaster, declares Emhyr's conquests as a result of his megalomania and lunatic dreams of conquering the world, and a pitful waste of resources, which granted Empire nothing but bloodshed and poor provinces that were too far north to be efficently exploited. He releases Cintra from personal union and begins long and difficult campaign to reorganise the Empire and secure own throne. Cintra regains soveregnity, under young king Vissegerd I.

In Tretogor, almost simultaneously to Radovids mystrious death, power is seized by Consul Sigismund Dijskra - with declaration of republic he rules as a ruthless tyrant, while Adda, who remains queen-widow is in fact a prisoner in own palace. He ends witch hunts, and begins his industralisation project. Forced by naval blockade by Skellige fleet, he releases Novigrad as a once again free city-state, were a continent-famous theatre presents great works of Dandelion. Skellige led by industrious queen Cerys gains trade priviledges and agriculture tech transfer from Novigrad. Dijiskra is also unable to control Temeria, and releases it, but engages in long war over Keadven, where five bastards of king Henselt united to restore their kingdom.

Temerian nobles elect young boy born of marriage between Maravel and Kimbolt families for a new king. Until the boy becomes an adult, kingdum is run by regency council, including one representative of each family, elder Natalis and a head, and royal sorceress Keira Metz. Ravaged by long wars Temeria regains its strengn in new times of peace. Plenty of monsters on old battelfields provide work for witcher Lambert, who suprisingly often visits Vyzima, and restored Blue Stripes led by Ves. Roche becomes first marshal of the army.

Aedirn is formally under rule of king Stennis, who still tries to regain authoruity over Vergen and Dol Blathanna - without success.

Triss at Kovir finally gets due respect among wizards. Frequently she meets Eskel, who wanders north lured by high prices per drowner head.
I couldn't sleep because of that.

Other than my Geralt romancing Triss these are my favorite endings.

Radovid is a piece of shit, but Nilfgaardians are the invaders and can go fuck themselves. Also, the way I play Geralt, it makes most sense not to get involved in the murder plot, even more so knowing how shitty that quest gets. I really like Dijkstra and I'm sure he'll manage somehow if the plot to kill Radovid fails. I like him way more than Roche, but it makes no sense to let him kill hill Roche and Ves after they came to help during KM battle and the stuff they did in TW2 so even more reasons not to do Reasons of State.

Also, Radoivd's ending adds a certain grimness to the world and I find it strangely appropriate and fitting. And I like the idea of North going to shit under his rule while Geralt fucks off to Kovir to live a peaceful life.

Risking an involvement in a shoddy plan to kill a king just because said king might be a threat to Geralt's waifus is not compelling reason enough to risk getting killed at such a crucial moment where the battle with the Hunt is pending and Ciri's life is in danger. There were some EE petitions after the release of the game, but they never gained enough traction. Fact is, most people are very happy with the game and CDPR focused on doing the expansions instead. Another reason I think is that they already made a lot of cuts and adjustments in the third act to make the game on time so maybe they didn't want to return to that mess and just let it be.

But who knows, they've certainly seen the complaints. Whether they found then unjustified or simply didn't have time to do them or had some other reasons, it doesn't really matter, it's too late now.

What's build for Geralt in TW3 is probably the most fun, in your opinions?

I've been having a decent time with signs so far, I like the alt version of Igni, though I'm still trying to get it in my head when it's best to use it, because I'll be to eager to get something on fire, that I'll end up taking hits. I'm thinking of working on Aard and Yrden, Might invest in Quen in the future, but not much. I'm interested in the active shield a bit, though.

Probably going to focus heavily on strong attacks, as well. BIG MOVES BIG DAMAGE.
