/xivg/, how do you handle people who throw a tantrum and push to abandon when they lose?

I was just in Dun Scaith with a lot of new players and a couple of experienced ones, and the veterans were laying into the new guys (and eventually everyone) for making mistakes and generally having low DPS. They voted abandon and I said to give them a chance, and they started yelling at me to quit and learn how to play my class correctly. I'd been making mistakes of my own, but I did my best and followed their callouts, so I'm not sure why they lashed out at me.

I know it's stupid, but it takes the fun out of the game when people get this upset over it, and it's hard for me to not just give up and turn it off.

Yeah there are a good amount of shady players but they exist in all games. I think the problem is there is a blanket-mindset about pvp in this game that misleads a lot of people and convinces them to hate it without even trying like >>170688347 . The top 10 for both solo and party queue in season 3 had only 1 confirmed wintrader (Payne Ebonwing on faerie), and even then the rewards for top 10 were a complete joke so it wasn't even worth much. Top 100 is literally impossible to not get if you have a working brain so anyone who complains about that being unachievable is truly just a shit player.

Top 100 reward for Season 1 and 2 were chest, leg, boots, gloves, and helmet (for top 10). Season 3 and 4 top 100 reward is a Hellhound mount of varying colors for party/solo queue and the top 10 is an earring nobody cares about and a minion that isn't exclusive.

Top 100 rewards are for soloqueue only, party queues you need to be top 30. Both queues have top 10 rewards as well.

Regardless of getting a team or not if you are a good player (you dont even need to be that good, just competent) then you will place top 100 easily.

The rating system in Feast is designed for you to climb with a sub 50% winrate until Diamond. There were people who made Diamond and top 100 last season with 40% winrates. So long as you are literally not terrible at the game, understand how pvp works, and dont lose all of your matches then you will be fine.

That largely depends on how things are with Garlemand.

The new Emperor who has people undermining him just losing his most loyal enforcing general won't help. Internal politics has already stymied the efforts of Garlemand's expansions after the Calamity and it's entirely possible that at this point the entire empire is a bit too stretched thin to take care of two uprisings simultaneously.

I went on a several-months long binge where I played nothing but Monk. Punching things is fun, and MNK has some really nice glamours, but I have a mighty need and only samurai can fill it.

I wish SE wasn't being so tight-lipped about how the new jobs actually function. We've been given comparisons, comparing SAM to halfway between MNK and NIN, but no concrete mechanical information. All we have are a couple pretty animations from the in-game trailers.

It only gets worse every day. It's starting to hurt. Especially since I don't have enough money to pre-order.

literally grinding lore is the intended mechanic. Prior to the umbrite nerf you needed 24,000 lore with no other way to get umbrite besides getting 24,000 lore. That wasn't something you would just stumble across during normal play. You had to go farm.
