It might be that I approached it differently. I've only been using Dun Scaith for the Matter and trying to win the minion. The weekly drop is something I've kinda just left there more often than I've actually rolled on an item for the week. So Dun Scaith has always been fun for me, because I can tolerate running it and fighting Scathach for a Matter and losing the roll on the minion. I mean loot-wise, I don't run any content in the game for the loot, I just run what I like to run or what is a necessity for something else I want. I haven't spent Scripture in a long time, and I complete Wondrous Tails without putting much time into the actual task of completing WT. It just happens alongside what I do regularly, which is run stuff with nerds in my FC more often than not. I don't really enjoy Dun Scaith, but until now I've been running it weekly because the rewards are too nice when it comes to gearing alts - which I like, because I do want to start raiding on other jobs soon to break up the monotony of my weekly routine a little bit. I think you have the right mindset for content, running what's fun rather than chasing loot. I wish I could say the same for myself.

As it stands, I love running savage with my friends. I love running ex primals with my friends, and I love running braindead content like Diadem with my friends. I like making new friends, too, so I'm pretty happy to pay the monthly fee for this game, even if a ton of the content isn't fun.

Why would I ever queue for diadem in Trials of the Matron? The queue takes FOREVER to fill, and I can just go into Fury, switch to gatherer and gather. I don't see any reason to go as Matron considering it requires me to go in as a DoW first anyway

Honestly, chasing loot lost its luster for me a long time ago, and I've always just treated Diadem as a mindless way to gather materials and then not go back in until I needed more. I like breaking up the monotony by playing other jobs, but not enough that I'd run content I don't enjoy in order to give a role gear
