Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.

The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.

It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.

Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

Don't use Augur Elders with Augur communion slaves unless you're willing to lose the Augurs.

Even if you tell the elders to only cast fire/astral spells, once off-script they will likely spam horde of skeletons and kill your augurs.

They're a 50hp commander and after buffs they quickly regenerate fatigue and health via soul vortex, have 26+ protection to shrug off attacks, and come back to life if you somehow manage to kill them through all that.

And this is before you start adding items to tank them up further.

I want to create the perfect thug.
Which would be the perfect thug that LITERALLY ALONE, IN ALMOST EVERY SITUATION, would be able to 1-man kill a good army?
I'm guessing phoenix Pyre + reinvig items + some passive damage would be staple, as well as a first-turn AOE spell to get rid of blood slaves, but which chassis i wonder? Any tips?

It doesn't matter if it becomes a very late game possibility only, i'd like to create the ultimate being, one not able to lose with proper scripting and spells.

That's impossible, unfortunately, since any SC is counterable once you know its gear. The SCs that are hardest to kill are mindless, lifeless units with high HP and armor of virtue or Returning, but those are also relatively easy to send home and, if they're relying on Armor of Virtue to keep them safe, it's also possible to wish it away and thereby kill it reliably. If you know where they're moving, it's also possible to time them out without damaging them, and make them go poof that way (though it's a lot trickier, since even the weakest units can accidentally send it home with a 'lucky' roll)

Anything else can be dealt with efficiently with thugs geared with the appropriate counter-weapons.

Dedicated anti-SC tactics can't be reasonably countered by an SC, for what I hope are obvious reasons, and how you define 'a good army' is extremely vague and reduces your entire query to a pointless argument starter with no real resolution.

Proper scripting and spells will always beat even the most well geared SC, because proper scripting and spells implies adaption, which implies the SC remains static, which implies that the SC is being actively countered, and Dominions is literally all counterplay.

Having blockers is always good. Meatshields to stand between your mageline and your enemies will save you a lot of dead mages, particularly against fliers. This said! Many mages can summon stuff up in combat which works as blockers.

There's any number of tactics which can be used. The evospam mageline is fairly popular, and there do exist counters to it.

I don't think there was a time limit mentioned so I'm probably safe to do the quest just as soon as possible...probably. As therodos I'm probably going to have to rely on something conjured to be able to withstand ozes/jaguars as therodos has nothing to recruit that's strong enough. Any thought on what a good thug/sc that therodos could summon for this quest?

I have actually seen incredible success with an awake dom 10 recently.

Expands out the gate hard, gets a silly number of manikins that are difficult to deal with in that number, and combined with 200 gold cost temple can threaten an actual domkill on unprepared neighbors. Counters other rushes quite well too, since elite sacreds are NOT what you want fighting manikins.

Growth/Magic are the scales that you want but can live without.

Aspho's good magic is relatively late given that it's popkill and needs to spend gold for its researchers (alt 5 for oak, swarm, and wooden warrios and ench 6, where they have skelly spam, rigor mortis, and other fatigue stuff) so Aspho NEEDS to use its strong early game

If you're playing a large enough game, you eventually get tartarians and are actually pretty good at using them, but you need to be a biggest nation by that point.

-Phoenix pyre combined with fatigue mitigating buffs like soul vortex, summon earth power, and an Earth bless means it will be very difficult to kill one you're caught unprepared
-High paths for forging and super-casting. One that gets an Air path can cast Rain of Stones or empowered to unlock Dai tengu. One that gets E3+ can get you dorf hammers and cast EQ. I've had a Dai oni get D5 before, so that's one easy booster away from Well of Misery.
