So, I have the mantis claw, the dash, the super horizontal dash/fly thing, the upward attack spell, and I've beaten the Mantis Lords, the Crystal Mine area, explored part of the deepnest, but didn't fight the boss, can access the tram, and have the lantern.

Where do I go? I feel like there's a million places I wasn't able to access before but should be able to now, but then I keep running into roadblocks. I know I need to fight the boss in Deepnest, but aside from that, where should I start heading towards, and what's a good general order to do things in so I can avoid this aimless feeling I have about the game right now?

Just bounce on one of their heads and when you see them move, dodge out towards the center of the ring away from them. Go back if they don't bounce, reposition if they do.

I played with a controller exclusively and installed on my SSD so I can say that it doesn't quite fix the stuttering, but the controller is comfortable to play with since the game is so small I would recommend putting it on SSD if the extra second or so loading is important to you.

Nope. The Nail Upgrades are gated by Pale Ore, #1 costs just Geo, #2 costs 1 Pale, #3 costs 2 Pale, and #4 costs 3 Pale.
They're spread around the map in some wild spots, but there's none in the Watcher's tower.

By the way can I liberally sell all the journals, effigies and what not that have no other purpose right now?
Thy money would sure come in handy but I cant believe that the guy would give me this much money for them if they are in no way relevant for me.

Hahaha... No. This is called object pooling. The alternative is destroying and instantiating objects, which has far greater overhead. 'using memory' does not slow the game down. In fact, performance hitches are more likely to come up for the exact opposite reason to the one you state.

Okay I just discovered that with Joni's blessing Grubberfly's elegy works while striking up or down even if you were hurt. Combined with Quck Slash I'm getting some serious dps action on Radience. Still can't beat it though.

Anyone else love shit like this? Like deliberately breaking conventions you've been taught?

I really loved the feeling of being in a foreign hostile place that eventually turned into me going through my backyard. Great ride, trying to push through the lag and some fruitless backtracking did somewhat ruin the experience for me as well as me spoiling the shit out of everything but then again if I didn't I would probably drop the game in the first few hours before the wall jump.

I especially how there was always shit to find that made me excited about finding it, most of the game give you some shitty equipment but here we also got a piece of the plot or an interesting character. I don't know why putting content that is not essential to progression makes so much difference but it does and even though technically it's small rooms with characters that have barely any dialogue or animations.

Quirrel last appears in the Blue Lake. You can sit with him for a while and chill.

In the air: Diagonal dash locked on you, thread shield thing like on your pic, Vertical stomp
Once you can recognize each attack, you can hit her a lot during her recovery.

Also, on another note, i feel lost as fuck. I feel like i may be skipping shit but there's just so much to explore.

I've been to the city of tears, after opening the gate and getting trapped inside since the gate didn't want to open again, made my way through until i found another bug transport, went to the start of the game thinking there may be secrets, found a whole new area, fought some spirit got a new weapon skill, still grateful for catographer, but wonder how he got from the city to where i am now.

Is there any specific place i should focus on? I know about the mines, the area with graves, city, the forest the area above, which i think i fully explored, or at least what i could of it.

Only major bosses i fought so far were the false knight, needle girl and the ghost from the "wise" dude who wants to ASCEND!

#2 requires you to unite the Void.
#3 also requires the Awakened Dream Nail.

I didn't think i would like this game so much. I'm still not even halfway done i think, much to explore still, but so far, it's been a good mix of gloomy, comfy, good atmosphere, challenging and it can even be cute at times, and while i haven't seen much of it, it seems to be fairly lore heavy, hell i can even Read people's minds with my dream needle, which is fairly fun.

It's fairly charming.

How come i don't see much about this game? This is like one of those game that deserve an award or something.

There's 2 entrances to Royal Waterways. Through the locked hatch in City of Tears and then Cornifer is all the way to the left in a room with a combat - locked door and the hatch to the Mantis Village.
And through the Deepnest Tramway into the far edge of it.

After the room transition, there's the room with the accumulator switch and the vaulted ceiling. From the right wall, jump up left, dash left, then jump again. Timing and position is tight, but doable. Then hit the switch up there, drop back down, and flip the accumulator.
