That's an incredibly biased way of putting it. The fact that Otomeme isn't used anymore doesn't changed the fact that it was a strong meta card when it was released. Every single sword legendary were meta when they were released, it's not like other classes where the cards were shit to begin with.

The other anon is right. It's pointless to analyze it based on whats currently good because it doesn't give you the entire picture of how the game meta changes. The point people are making is that every expansion sword gets good legendaries to build decks around where as other classes often get garbage to play with.

Of course some cards are going to stop being used over time, that's the nature of card games, but at least the sword cards actually got used at some point. Look at fucking flute for dragon. If they printed something like that for sword we would never hear the end of it from you faggots. Having a good legendary eventually get powercreeped by your own cards is better than having complete dogshit legendaries that never see the light of day in real decks.

In terms of who has gotten favored the most in terms of legendary quality every new expansion it's easily.

I was looking at my collection the other day to check what came in what set. Looking at dragon since it's my favorite craft was so depressing. I didn't realize that every remotely decent legendary we have was from the original launch. Every set we've gotten memes. It started as a joke, but I'm starting to believe that Cygames really doesn't like the craft.

The problem with his effect is that it is given FOR FREE and is just a bonus by playing the card. If it were a blood card or dragon card it probably wouldn't do anything until overflow/vengeance. If it were forest you would have to play 2 cards. Shadow would have a necromancy cost to get this effect. Rune would have to spellboost it. Haven it would have some sort of countdown before it activated. Sword is the only craft that routinely gets their effects handed to them for free, Gawain is no different.

The only way his effect would be remotely comparable would be if Gawain didn't activate unless an officer was also on the field. It's literally not hard to have a commander in your hand to reap the benefits of the card.

It fills your hand with cards that become even harder to use because you played an amulet the previous turn instead of a spell that has actual synergy with the spellboost mechanic by making things cheaper/stronger. The point of the post was about every expansion so far.

Haven got a viable deck defining legendary in DE. Rune got a viable deck defining legendary in RoB

Forest got a deck defining legendary in RoB but it's not viable, blood got a decent legendary in DE but it's not exactly strong enough to build a deck around.

A well designed legendary is something you can build a deck around, not just a good card. Haven and Rune both got one of them and the decks that were built around them were both very strong the expansions they were introduced. Wolf and Mary have future potential, but they don't compete with the support that Seraph and Daria had on release.

The funny thing is that in Shadowverse that actually is balanced or even bad. 4 mana is when you want to be evolving, so an evolve that does nothing then is kind of bad. If you don't want to evolve on 4, or just want to play a 4 body later on it is quite good, though. A slight value play in a game where slight value plays lose you the game, pretty debatable.
