She heals the same and still brings a lot of utility in the form of sleep dart and healing boost/deny. She's just frailer and deals less damage, the second one I'm okish with but I believe the former was a bit too harsh.

You can still win and have fun, but you can't really just win all 1v1s anymore. Make every sleep dart and nade count.

I've seen a few other Masters+ here, but you can usually tell who is good/bad at the game based on what they are posting. I've seen plenty of tips/advice on here that are laughably bad/wrong, but i've also seen some good stuff. It's inherent in an anonymous image board though

I'm not sure you phrased that properly but I think i get the gist. Well for one, everyone knows positioning is key. It wouldn't be improper for someone in silver/gold to give (correct) positioning advice, because they may be mechanically unable to follow it.

For instance, I can tell the soldier he should be positioned on high ground to defend their next push. I personally might not be able to stand on high ground and defend the enemy push because my aim might not be good enough to hit the enemies. However, that doesn't make my advice any less correct.

So yeah, there's elements of people here being generally clueless and giving bad advice, but there's also elements of good advice which the person themselves can;t follow because they simply aren't as good at the game.

Well, Zen's secondary utility is better than Mercy's in most cases. She has more mobility, yes, and is great at fixing the team's mistakes (provided she survives long enough for her ult to charge), but Zen is better at denying ults altogether.

Not only that but she provides no damage soak for the team.

For instance, a Soldier/McCree/Reaper/Mei etc.. can all take a little bit of chip damage and still be fine, while also soaking up damage that could potentially be meant for a support. Having a higher overall team HP pool makes a difference in team fights

if you can aim sure, only thing is with widow, and why I would argue she isn't pharah's strongest counter, is because widow is actually dive prone and pharah is a dive character. The margin for error is small, if you miss her once or twice and she sees you, once she gets on top of you than suddenly YOU become the countered character.

There's also Ana. You have to aim with her as well, but she's less noticeable and a bit more self-sustainable. She can take out 200 HP heroes in three shots, in two if she's boosted by Mercy or the enemy is debuffed by Zen.

Bastion is a weird pick. Sure, Pharah can't kill Bastion but Bastion can't kill Pharah either.

Even soldier and McCree have trouble with a good pharah on maps with lots of places she can peek from. When you look at the entire roster and assume each player has a similar skill level, then I also think Widowmaker is the best, most reliable Pharah counter.

Anybody else get ranked way lower than usual this season?

I ended up ranking super low gold (like around 2100), and just climbed up to 2600, which is where I started in previous seasons. Don't get me wrong, the feeling of actually climbing is pretty rewarding, but it was weird to be ranked so low.

Received the game Christmas, started ranked after level 25. Got 1400.got to 2400 relatively easily.went up to 2879.down to 2400.then 2400 to 2700. Made it to diamond in the last week
