It can be used as a dropship (people don't need to be strapped to seats).
It can carry small cargo boxes around planets.
It can be used as a ship-to-surface personal transport.
It can be used for surface exploration like the dragonfly. It's also getting reworked to have a repair arm on it so you can keep one in your cargo hold and go out in space to repair your bigger ship.

It's baffling to me that someone doesn't follow him around with a camera all day. He's like the Gary Busey of game devs. Literally a walking talking meme.
>>170390749
He seems psychotic.
>>170391572
That's why it would be entertaining. I'm convinced that the only reason "I'm with Busey" failed is someone fucked around and told Gary the cameras were real.

>>170425314
Not home atm. You'll need around 350 million for outfitting all three.
Your weapon of choice is the multicannon.
All crucial internals as A-grade. You also need military grade composites and hull reinforcement.
At least one shield cell bank and some heat sinks. Prismatic shields if you can.
You also need to engineer the fuck out of your modules. Multicannons as overcharged. More power output on plant, recharge focused distributor, stronger shield generator, dirty engines.
>>170427076
Do I need a beam for taking down shields? Thanks
>>170427076
Why overcharged and not Efficient? The Jitter on Overcharged actually cuts down on the DPS. Whilst Efficient allows you to run your multi's longer and with a +DMG bonus if you do past grade 3.
>tfw you know the pet system is like 2-3 years away, even though it's the coolest system in the game, because of how they are still working on the character models and don't have a female model in the game yet or character customization
>>170429082
No you put Incendiary Rounds to your MCs and they do the job fine. You also want to put Corrosive in at least one to get the damage bonus, they don't stack however.
>>170430056
There's no jitter in grade 5 and you don't put anything else but grade 5 upgrades.
You can fire them well enough with an upgraded distributor.

Daily reminder we wont see 3.0 this year
So ive been at fehu and i occasionally see the rank-up mission (that i cant accept in my eagle; its for smuggling 60 tons of cargo). Will my empire rank progression keep going if I do planet-scan missions or is my progression capped and I need to get to my next rank before I can keep on crashing my eagle?

>>170451432
You retard, that discovery was made long ago. Just announced later.
Also his blatant disregard for climate change mitigation should worry you.
>>170451569
I'm sure it was a total coincidence that they discovered a bunch of new planets right after being instructed to look for them in so many words. no doubt they were saving the articles on it for after Trump gave the order, we all know how much the news media likes to make him look good and do what he says to curry favour.

Modern gun that are not SPACE RATED, don't forget it.
It's incredible how many things we take for granted don't exist in space. (for example you need to pack your shell with their own air to burn, and thermal management in space is hellish)
http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/sidearmslug.php#id--Slugthrowers--Propellent_and_LubricationI don't care how many mar/k/sman there is here, I'll take both realistic looking gun and 70s SFish space phazer set to stun.

>>170461082
>the "gun needs atmospheric oxygen to fire meme"
Your own link disproves that
Thermal management would be the #1 problem though. Spent casings currently act as mini heat sinks but that wouldn't be enough for space. We might see a return of cooled jackets like a maxim gun except with some high tech heat sink instead of water
>>170457613

>>170464056
am I the only one that thinks the kick on that "shotgun" is way too heavy? it reminds me of that atrocious scope animation from battleborn, completely disorienting. it's not even firing real shot, and it takes so long to fire again it doesn't need that penalty, not to mention the spread is so stupid wide it's only basically a melee weapon.
>>170430526
>tfw no cockpit companion for long voyages

At least heatsinks in E:D made more sense as a disc of heat capacitive material is ejected upon reaching saturation. This shit looks like it belongs in a volvo
>>170464482
at some point you have to sacrifice for realism anon, unless you wanted every ship to be built around monolithic cooling units and/or have radiator fins all over them? I admit that would be a neat starting point for ship design, but very limiting as well.

tips anon : Even if E:D have "radiator-looking thingy protruding out" they are so ridiculously small for the heat generated that they are no more realistic than Star Citizen. Not in any relevant ways.
So SC didn't bother and simply use cooler as a game-mechanic.
It's not to say I don't like the aesthetic of trying to have real-looking radiator, but that it is simply an aesthetic change in both case.
>>170464482
>>170465102
Theses are realistically sized radiator.
Believe me, FULL REALISM lead to a very different and difficult type of gameplay.
I like it, but it's too bothersome to include in a game of WWII-in-space.
Sometime we just want to play with recycled tropes in space.

I really wish the suit radar acted more like the motion tracker from alien. Make it a replacement for the pistol so you have to choose to either be armed or be informed.
Bonus points if you can get 1 guy to be scan bitch while the tool relays it's results directly to helmet hud of other players in your squad.
>>170474785
1) Lower TTK.
2) Remove dots from minimap.
3) Put some tactical mechanic in the game where team mates need to communicate HUD data to spot enemies and point out sound locations where they might have heard something, etc.
4) Fix the netcode.
5) Player-hosted servers running anti-cheat.
6) More game customization, 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, 8v8, 12v12, 16v16, 32v32.
7) Release actual game content instead of taking literally months to make 1 weapon, and then reworking them by adding more polygons to break your shit netcode even more. More weapons, more gadgets. It doesn't matter if they don't win "PC Gamer fidelity award 2017", just get the mechanics in the game and then polish the models later.
>>170474785
>>170475736
>1) Lower TTK.
You assholes want to die quicker? I've literally dropped people with one head shot from an ATT-4. First player to get a head shot wins. It turns combat into the first person to get sights on target win, encourages camping, and other stupid shit. Never mind the retarded way combat ends for less skilled players. It leads to a huge lethality spike where one personal gets a lucky head shot and combat is just over for no discernible reason.
>4) Fix the netcode.
No shit...
>>170475736
anon, I want you to sit back and relax while I tell you why you will never have those things:
1. SM isn't actually a game. Lowering TTK would be a big problem in the larger game. Most of what appears to be TTK problems are actually the 400-500ms of movement lag making it look like it takes forever.
2. I agree, but this will never happen because you could actually hide in shadows effectively. The would be mountains of salt from the constantly running around corners crowd.
3. This would require someone on payroll who understands these concepts. CIG has never shown any interest in innovating gameplay like that.
4. Ironically, SM and AC are not effected by the netcode the same way the PU is. The problem in SM is animations don't report their motion until complete, so there is a huge lag while the game waits for you to complete your motion before reporting it to the other players. Muh fidelity.
5. Before 4.0? Bwahahahahahahahahahaha.
6. This is a half cocked, poorly thought out feature like racing. Don't expect any actual development in SM itself aside from bug fixes.
7. Seriously, lurk more. What motive could CIG possibly have to release content any faster than they have to? They are going to slow drip this shit as long as they can. As long as cultists throw money at CIG to reinforce their own confirmation bias, CIG can take as long as they please.
They are already on at least the second version of planets, not counting the new stuff that was more developed. No one has played any of that. No planetary module, nothing. They aren't going to release anything until they have no choice.

>>170476913
>You assholes want to die quicker?
No, I want to kill quicker.
Though I think I'm not supposed to play FPS games. No matter how many times I get the drop on someone, they always seem to kill me.
>shoot someone 10 times
>they turn around and kill me in 2 shots
>people laugh at my K/D ratio
I'm glad I stopped caring. Being competitive online is really unhealthy, it can be obsessive.
I also find that it's kill die kill die, constantly. Get a kill and then watch the spectator screen, finishing the match with 1.1 K/D ratio or something.
I just find it more fun without garbage netcode or bullshit luckers. I learned that devs wanted to take skill out of games and replace it with timesinks and randomness. That's where RNG, crit chances, ping, team composition all come in to play. You can't do much about any of this. If the game you're playing is full of bullshit, you're going to have a bullshit experience. I prefer older classic games. Quake 3 is still way more fun than any modern shooter. And it doesn't even track your K/D ratio.
>>170477481
I'm shitposting about SC to cope with the reality of my mildly engineered FAS barely being adequate to leech off other NPCs in CZs. Saying I'm bitter about both games might be softballing it a bit.
>>170477490
>Though I think I'm not supposed to play FPS games. No matter how many times I get the drop on someone, they always seem to kill me.
SM's net code is fucked five ways from Friday. There is no reason to take it seriously. There are hacks for it already; wall and aim you can buy.
https://youtu.be/OHtIjbBVuTE
Also removing hax from the equation. There is a huge latency disconnect from movement in the networking. There is no prediction in regards to movement which is why people running around seem to have the advantage since they will be shooting people on their screen while the people getting shot at wont even see the person shooting for another 200ms.
>shoot someone 10 times
>they turn around and kill me in 2 shots
>people laugh at my K/D ratio
Combat is stupidly lethal if someone gets just one head shot. Stop aiming for center of mass and go for the head or nothing at all. If you can't get a head shot don't bother. Also the radar system is pretty stupid too. I can start pre-firing doors and corners just looking at my radar I know someone is there getting the first few shots in before I render on their screen. Just line up where you think their head is going to be and start shooting, either you round the corner into their head, or they round the corner into your bullets.
>I just find it more fun without garbage netcode or bullshit luckers.

I'll just have to force myself to remember to camp like a shitter, and aim only for the head. I don't like camping, but I guess it's a tradeoff for not always spectating from dying so much.
>>170478549
I have a feeling that their customization 'module' is one of their next biggest things, so I think they'll take another 2 episodes to talk about it. I don't mind, I like it. Sean did say last week that they'll dive in to it more in the coming weeks.
I'm honestly hoping they'll touch on cockpit decorations too, like bobblehead stuff, posters, etc. Maybe rare armor sets from achievments and crafting or whatever.
Just talking about the possibilities is getting me hyped.

Crusader along with its moons(Everything in PU right now) is only one of four planets in the Stanton system, 3.0 will be adding the rest of the system, which includes Hurston, Mircotech and ArcCorp, Its pretty safe to assume there will be more moons around at least some of those planets.

Is exploration still viable for a complete beginner? I just want to make money mindlessly while podcasting, I was going to try mining but I struggle to figure out how to find decent asteroids (although I'll admit I haven't tried prospector limpets yet. Do they somehow add the ability to see how the remaining mineable contents of an asteroid, and allow you to identify the asteroids in your contacts menu to keep track of which is made of what, and what's been mined completely?)
Just sold my mining shit back to the dealer, I think I got 100% of the credits back but I'm not sure how that mechanic work, and picked up a better discovery scanner and a surface scanner.
From what I understand, all you need to do to make dosh in exploration is go to a system, use your discovery scanner (and surface scanner) on all of the unknown objects, and jump to the next.
And to sell, you just need to travel to 20LY beyond where you initially scanned the object? I take it credits increase as the range increases?
Did they optimise SC yet? I'll admit I'm not on the greatest system, but my 970 (hue) has been able to tackle everthing I've thrown at it so far within reason (no ubersampling TW3 and still expecting 120fps)
My CPU is a bit older, 3770k, but I remember every time I updated SC to check out if it was worth giving a shit about after getting scammed out of £30, it's always been a choppy mess.

>>170484845
Its scope has expanded exponentially to the point where it may take another 3 years to fully come out. Check back every 3 months for news on major updates, if you don't want to keep a close eye on development.
>>170484208
The credits you receive don't increase as the range increases. What determines how many credits you get is what you scan. White dwarves and earth like planets tend to go for a lot. There's a handy chart somewhere that has the whole credit breakdown. I would say that exploration for a beginner is viable but tedious. Really you're better off just doing missions for factions.

are you aware of the shield booster nerf oncoming?
good slice into the pools of everything i've got that's very substantial.
3300 -> 2500, 3900 -> 3000, 2000 -> 1500 for a vette cutter and fdl respectively that each use a two omni/two heavy/one thermal arrangement with three slots employing a heat sink, point defense and ECM. fdl just has an ecm with the five. vette has two cell banks and the cutter gets one, both then have a pair of MRPs and the rest is loaded with HRPs and an interdictor typically. fuel scoops are fully accommodated
only my anaconda has a 50%+ roll but i've some DWE to stab at it again soon. cutter can only pull 20.01ly and the fdl and vette and stuck in the 15 region with how heavy either is but i'd never trust shields alone in a real shitty situation. too many people think they're real fucking clever employing shield popper torps and the ECM can make short work of their threat, presuming repeated use as they come and go with how they're now affected. now that the shield pools are being undermined i'm pleased with throwing my lot into biggu reactive tanks for everything
>people complaining about scanning wakes
Go to a system in famine, more often than not they will have a Distribution Center beacon that you can drop in, it'll most likely be around a station. Drop in there, there will be 3 Type-9s, and there will be a constant flow of Sidewinders going to the Type-9s, stopping for a minute, and then jumping out. It'll be a constant stream of ships jumping out and leaving wakes in the exact same spots. There you go, just go there and farm wakes.

cascade rails will become all the more damning to be hit by, but on the same token cell bank stacks might see the light of day if some want to retain the outer layer as their primary tank. the need for torps might fluctuate for those interested in such things but i'm hardly certain.
also of note is that the armor ratings of the cutter and vette are being jacked up to 185 from 70, with the anaconda hitting 170 now instead of 65(?).

Yeah this is huge. Game-changing, even. All that armor hardness means all incoming damage is reduced across the board since even huge weapon armor pen is far lower than these values. Breaches to internal modules are less likely and less damage will get through when they happen. Small/med hardpoints are proving to be utterly worthless against the big three hulls unless they're packing torps or rails with the penetrator mod.
The one exploitable exception is ship-launched fighters. Their built-in guns were given infinite armor pen so they still have full damage and breach chance. Like in the beta right now a single GU-97 is a bigger threat to a shields-down 'vette than a couple of Vultures.

Why not just let us have more than one fighter? In any game where you control a ship that can launch fighters, fighters usually do piddly damage unless you have a ton of them to swarm the enemy. That's the whole point. Why not let us have 3+ fighters instead of giving them a ridiculous buff for the sake of them being competitive with actual ships?

They modeled the planet explicitly for the sake of the demo.
Getting nice procedural shapes via strictly mathematical modeling is tedious and takes quite a lot of implementation. Google 'mojoworld' images and see - it's an old software and included example image is not the best but you get the idea. That's purely mathematical world generation.
I'm speculating that they made the planet just for the demo of course and the "final" version will be "later" like everything what Chris Roberts "promises".
That's why all the planets in ED look more or less like swiss cheese...

Hey I haven't been updated on SC since Citizen con or that event they had were they showcased 3.0
Is it still possible for 3.0 to come this year? I know the next patch is 2.6 but are they going to skip to 3.0 after 2.6? or are they going to drag this out?
I was looking forward to finally buying this game after I saw the presentation but if they are honestly going to release that next year I think I'm convinced and will stay far away from this multi million scam

There's a pretty famous crime journalist in my home city who's dad was a lifelong cop and who only did the police beat/crime scenes as a cadet journalist and basically never moved to anything other than police/crime journalism. He's very, very friendly with cops and definitely not a liberal in any way.
There was some fuss about police brutality and some high-profile idiot was saying something about how in the good old days kids out causing trouble got a slap around the ears to keep them in line etc. The journo mentioned this in his column and said that anyone who thinks that the good old days were actually good, didn't live through them.
Seriously, if you think authoritarian regimes are cool, you didn't live in one. The people that did overthrew them or escaped to countries that weren't authoritarian. You idealise shit you've never experienced only because you haven't experienced it.

multicrew is in beta now for realsies
So how do I trade?
From what I can see, the highest value items are only a few thousand credits (I think I saw one 10~k item, and a few 6.5k average demand)
Meaning if you take it from a high supply station to a low supply station, you might be making 1k credits per tonne at most, and I hear about people jumping 200+LY to trade shit.
Am I missing something, or do all these people just have M A S S I V E cargo holds to make these things viable?
At the moment I'm making about 400k on a one way trip of about 15 LY by just doing the boom delivery things (often you can get 3-4 in the same system)
Also, didn't really get an answer when I asked earlier in regards to mining. What do prospector limpets do? How do they show you the contents of an asteroid if it isn't targettable, or do they make it so? Biggest issue I had with trying to do some mining was losing track of what asteroids I had mined and which ones I hadn't.

>>170527380
>Shoot asteroid with prospector limpet
>Target limpet
The trick to mining is to not go mining
>>170528239
Cheers, just found a leddit post that explained you target the limpets not the asteroid.
It also said that asteroids only give out 10-20 chunks of rock, does that reset once you zone out and back in again? Doesn't seem worth it at all, even if you happen to find an asteroid of gold or something.
Also, do prospector limpets expire within the same time frame as collectors (6 minutes or so, think it depends on the class). Again, seems like it would be impossible to keep track of all the asteroids you're trying to mine.
>>170528494
It really isn't that hard.
>>170528632
I'll be honest I've only been to a couple of RES sites, maybe I was just lucky/unlucky, but there was at least 15 asteroids strewn about the place.
More than enough to lose track of your bearings and what you've already mined.
Strange because the asteroids themselves show up on the radar/map once you get close enough, but they're never listed as contacts that can be kept track of. Just seems like a weird way to do it, compared to all other space sims which seems to let you do so.
>>170527380
Only dads do long distance cargo runs, with the exception of smuggle missions. The best way to earn money trading commodities is to find a good loop route, and trade in bulk. Biggest cargo + shortest route = most credits per hour.

I'd rather have variety and interesting weapons than a million polygon tacticool rifle. Oh and there's at least 3 of those in the game already.
There could be hundreds of weapon manufacturers in the future, we only get a couple.
At least the round table tomorrow will be interesting.

>>170570232
Basically, and thankfully, exactly as they proposed it back in 2012.
BUT, with these truck stop stations, how will that affect pirates? Previously I thought it was simply taking finished product A from Stanton to Olisar, and if you get intercepted by pirates they can take said product to grimhex, but now will pirates have their own version of a truckstop? Probably not, and even then if its a warehouse full of goods in space whats stopping players from not forming larger raiding parties to crack those stations open and sell the contents?

Station security/Turrets, NPC guards, Rules and mechanics regarding weapon power states near stations, advocacy wanted status marking criminal at long range and eventually the Navy if you're enough of a problem.
I'm just tossing out "likely" but that sort of stuff seems fairly simple. This isn't EVE where players outnumber NPCs and posses far greater firepower, even the largest player orgs will probably not hold a candle to a UEE system security fleet or even most planetary militias.
>>170570503
Oh certainly, it was an obvious move for a beta numale to say. I can only imagine how violently he recoils every time they get one of those gun replicas out for a design briefing.

>Station security/Turrets, NPC guards, Rules and mechanics regarding weapon power states near stations
That's where the comm arrays come into play, hopefully. If you can knock out the comm array and attack before they can fix it, maybe you could. Gamescom demo was them attacking an outpost.
If you think about it, truck stops give a place to have an attack on supply goods while keeping it out of armistice zones like PO.
>>170570896
I mean I know the proposed methods of punishing pirates I just wish they'd take about the other aspects of piracy and most importantly how outlaw bases like grimhex fit into the economy and the rest of the game. Like, will they be affected by supply and demand? Will there be one or possibly even more in each system?

Will Star Citizen allow us to customize the hud and/or crew AI? That's an immersion breaker for me if I can't adjust the hud to my liking. I also would like to be able to define different personalities for my crew members so I could listen to their banter while doing cargo runs, mining etc. Has Chris mentioned anything about this?
>>170575582
I don't think they'll let you customize helmet UIs, but they did mention an mobiglas/UI API at one point, which would allow you to write custom mobiglas apps (probably with some restriction for balance reasons) as well as add stuff to ship UIs.
They haven't mentioned it in a while though, so idk if they've scrapped it. Either way, it's not currently a priority for obvious reasons.

this is meant to be somewhat of a wild west setting, trading posts make sense, it's not like there needs to be a direct modern equivalent here.
Since they are putting in a mess hall and an eating system they also need to put in a cooking system, and since it's Star Citizen this fucking cooking system needs to be the most balls to the wall immersive shit ever like it is in Zelda but even more fucking hardcore with sauce and heat regulation and everything and a ranking tier type progression tree and skills with in game cooking animations. It's fucking happening I already sent CR an email there's literally nothing you can do to stop it sorry, it has already been decided and is being coded and bugs are being worked out already (there are a few netcode issues nothing serious 6 months tops and it will be fixed) (CR is also hiring 6 new programmers for the new cooking system btw and a few community cooking forum moderators full time pay of course apply @ RSI).
>>170582629
I'm just on tilt because of the return of shitty AtVs and how CIG is so cavalier with wasting content production time. The trading posts could be a good gameplay element, especially if you have high risk trade from the frontier to the post, and carebear friendly trade from post to stations like PO.

Go to Anarchy systems in famine (use eddb.io) and look for a Convoy Beacon. It'll spawn several Type-9s along with smaller haulage vessels that you can pick off one at a time without getting a bounty. Chemical manipulators should come naturally.
I'm very excited for 3.0 and the Cutlass. All I want from SC is Cowboy Bebop the video game. Comfy space opera adventures with my friends visiting planets so we can take the Dragonfly out for a spin or just loitering around a truck-stopRping
Also should I upgrade my mustang to the black now or wait for the rework. Would there be maybe a sale going along with it? Is that a thing they do?
It more pic related than /pol/, even though they're basically the same board. That being said, It wasn't /pol/ or /k/ that started shit it was some whinging anti-gun pussy. Probably a europoor or anglospherite 'mirin on Muh Freedoms.
Not everyone likes guns, not everyone needs too, some people enjoy being powerless and unable to defend themselves, it makes blaming others offloading responsibility easy. However, the sort of pansy ass who feels the needs to make a passive aggressive political comment in a fan produced video segment specifically about the games guns needs to be ridiculed. And the sort of person who would defend that sort of needless political sniping should be heckled as well.
>>170619364
I hope you enjoy being robbed then, it's gonna happen over and over once you get tagged as an easy score. Refusal to protect yourself is weakness, weakness attracts predators, i;s just the way things work.
>>170622449
It will almost certainly get a price bump after the rework. $100 for a ship that is rapidly becoming objectively superior to a freelancer. If you know you want a ship always buy sooner rather than later, prices only go up.

Empowering the masses on an individual basis is the only safeguard against expanding tyranny, if you don't want to spend your life running from a or fighting an ever lengthening arm of someone else's power you have ton convince the majority of people to value their own liberty and help empower them to defend it. That's literally what the Bill of Rights is all about, leveraging the people into a bulwark against statism and tyranny. The failure of that bulwark and the long slide of Americans into dependence, fear and apathy is what has put us where we are today.

Hillary Clinton got into a froth about Pepe, and as a result millions of normies are now aware of Pepe, even if they google him as a symbol of hate they are going to be swamped in our thoughts in the process.
I;m not saying they agree or have joined us or anything like that, I am saying they have been exposed to our world views in way that was simply not possible before. By talking about us in the view of normies we have gained power and relevance and eyeballs that we could never have gained on our own.

I'm getting a 7700k and a z270 mobo now that Ryzen is finally out and it's still not competitive. For gaming, the 7700k OC'd on a good mobo is way out beyond anything else. You can't really go wrong, unless you are waiting one more generation.
>>170628843
I don't play enough games to warrant upgrading my system. Like, paying another £500 or something now, but for what? So that it will be obsolete in 2 years? I might as well wait.
Honestly I'm really waiting for a 3D monitor in 4K resolution, and a build that can run games at 120fps so I can get 3D at 60FPS. I think 3D is kind of dying, though. Those nVidia glasses are really cool, it's a shame there aren't more games for it.

/pol/ and /k/ are the same board. /b/ and /a/ are the same board. /pol/ and /a/ /a/ and /vg/ are the same board. 4chan is not one person but 4 chan is one board with many branches in it's threads. /scg/edg/ is full of /pol/ and /k/ posters who are not currently talking about /pol/ and /k/ things but when someone else starts, we are already here. People who only use one board or just a couple boards are a tiny minority to the people who started on one but have since branched out to many. /vg/ was my first board, but I frequently post on pol, k, vg, tg, his, s, aco, o and g. I think it's the max performance sweet spot. The 7700k is $350, the same as a Ryzen 1700. You can't buy a denser IPC, even from intel. Overkill would be a 6900k.
Once the server bottleneck is gone, I'll get full use out of my 1070. An older processor would just scale the fps back with the worse efficiency.

They "only" planned 100 solar solar system so as to not "dilute" the fun. The only content that will be procedurally generated are side quest for grinds and the terrain that serve as a decoration for the actual missions. Some wrecks and station will inevitably start looking alike but, we expect that, and if they want a special quest they can.
They are making the tools to paint the procedural planet reliefs/station/base, some planet will be superfluous (decoration) but if they want to paint the entrance of a special starbase into a large canyon, they can. You can't say that of all game using procedural planet.
Even the random quest generator are being made to have up to 3 twists so that you never just do "Kill mission at X" to grind.
They follow this logic : Why make 100 places that will get boring in 10h when you can make 10 places you'll keep exploring for 100hours
>>170561576
I second >>170634372
And would add, procedural worls are likely going to be the "Players as content" parts of SC, what will make them interesting is a player construction system and the resulting player ecosystems created there, both in terms of currently active bases and factions and also the exploration and exploitation of ruins.
