Anyone want to give me a quick rundown of classes while I wait? My first (and only so far) character is a orc Templar who I'm using as a tank. But everyone talks about how dragon knights are better. Why is that anyway? Does it even ever matter? What's the best way to build a orc Templar? Should I cut my losses early and make someone new? What's the meta these days?

I'd put orcs as a second tier stamina race. Redguards are the best all around for stamina, but Khajiit, Orc, and Bosmer are all perfectly acceptable.

You could always level up your orc, then respec them into your crafter. Orcs get a racial +10% crafting XP from deconstructing equipment.

If you care about being able to do the hardest PVE content in the game it matters (hardmode vet trials and hard mode vet dlc dungeons). DK has better resource management with earthen hands and battle roar, and more blocking damage reduction.

So... if you want to be an orc tank, that's fine, it's actually one of the better choices.. but Orc DK would be better than Templar. Imperial or Argonians also make good DK tanks.

Orc Templar would be pretty bad because eventually if you give up on tanking and want to use that templar for healing or dps, you're going to be better off going magicka, which orc doesn't do magicka well.

For magicka templar dps, Altmer or Dunmer, for Healer templar argonian or breton.

Which one?

I'm trying to make her a templar tank. I've been playing a magsorc all this time and this is kinda different. I like what the 1h&s skills do, but they don't seem like they're meant to be spammed. So far I've been applying the debuffs from my weapon skills then spammed puncturing strikes, but it's not doing much damage and I feel like I want to keep some mp for a quick heal. Plus, I kinda want to stick with the whole mace&shield imagery rather than stabbing shit with aedric weapons, even if it's kinda cool. Also resource management: how do?

Only level 11 now so I don't have much to work with yet. Still, it feels like I'm not really doing it right. CP 300 and something so I dumped a those points in a few things for survivability and healing stuff.

If you were to live out an adventurer's life like ESO lets you and it was much like the Animus for the Assassins Creed story, what race, class, guild, do you think would you most want to experience?
I think it could be fu to hear what people would truly like to experience

Ex: Orsimer, Stam Sorc almost purely for mobility purposes and Armor/shields, and a Werewolf. Id probably be a servant of Malacath but i like Trinimac's armor style more. Wandering HighRock and laying waste to bandits would be pretty rad.

Second choice: Bosmer with antlers, Stam Dk and poison focused. Id finally be able to taste Kahjit and Argonian flesh and it wouldnt be too abnormal.

You paint this idyllic picture where it's this flavorful fluffy thing but that won't be the reality. Not even close.

It's going to be 20 people in stealth sitting around every Outlaw Den. Constantly. The moment someone comes by with a bounty some NB will jump out of stealth, all three of his proc sets will pop off and that person will die. Assuming the other 19 people didn't also join in.

There's ways of making it so crime paying is harder but making it so any old asshole can take their Cyrodiil build and jump thieves because they got a bad roll on a pickpocket attempt and didn't have pardon edicts is just going to punish new players and low level alts while anyone with developed thievery is just going to eat pardon edicts a bit more regularly.

It would add immersion for me. Dueling actually takes me out of the game, personally. So does watching characters murder farming large numbers of mobs in Reaper's March. You'd think someone would do something about genocidal toons, but nope.

So surely the players must be the enforcers of this, surely they'll enforce it in a way that adds to immersion and doesn't turn the entrances to each Outlaw's Den into a literal warzone or something.

The justice system just won't work and doesn't do anything that dueling/cyrodiil/battlegrounds don't. Consequence for PvE actions can be accomplished with, hey, more PVE. Like being assailed by bounty hunter NPCs or whatever.

But honestly that you can kill lots of people is the least immersion breaking part of the justice system. For example: why do any guards in Wayrest know or CARE that I murdered people in Stonefalls?

When DC troops do that themselves no less.

Late Night Dungeoneers, there was a forum post looking for people, pretty much anyone can join so it can by iffy when getting people for pledge because it can range from scrub to BiS leaderboard players.

I recommend using the forum to find guilds, generally any that advertise guilds in zone chat are normally shit guilds unless it's a trading guild.

absolutely. It'd mean that there could be options for Destruction staves aside from the VMA staff (a 2nd 4 and 5 piece bonus could be just as good as the spell damage bonus from the vma staff) and for 2h weapons and bows it gives an option aside from just the master bow/2h weapons.

Currently DW you dont have to have VMA of master weapons because completing a 2nd 5 piece set is an option.

It means two handers will count as 2 weapons in regards to armor sets, to be balanced with sword/shield counting separately.

no they mean for set bonuses. right now if you wear 5 pieces of armor from 1 set you get the set bonus, then your monster helm and shoulder set, now what you have left is your jewelry and weapon slots open.

For someone who uses a destruction staff or bow, you get a 3 piece jewelry set, and then you HAVE to get the VMA weapon. Any other weapon is pretty much junk, as 4 piece bonuses won't make up the difference you'd lose from the VMA weapon.

2h's the master weapons (from DSA) are comparable. But any crafted or other set items are junk.

For dual wield or 1h+ shield? You can complete a 2nd 5 piece set and that can make up for not having VMA.
