Smithing text idiot from last thread, just got Derrick's Axe. Puts me at 87.7. With deluxe smithing texts I'd be at roughly 96% or 97%.

Going to try Giant Frog for a bit to see since someone asked. Any other ideas of what I'd be missing?

I'll make a imgur gallery in a bit for my gear, admittedly my yokai drop rate is not very high so I'm just going to hope I get lucky with Giant Toad if he has one.

For a lot of these quitting to main menu on kill if you don't get the recipe is faster, it will load back to the last shrine or "saved" state (such as the start of a mission). For Derrick I used the shrine above him and just quit after killing him if I didn't get it and reloaded.

Haven't had loads of time to play, so I'm a bit behind. I just made it to giant Skelletor and am hitting a brick wall. So I hit a foot, he gets knocked over, I wail on his face, ezpz. Do that again to his other foot, no big deal. Now, there's no more glowing orange ankles and hitting his feet seems to do nothing.

What the fuck am I supposed to be doing? I fired some bullets at his chest and while it does no damage, a depleted no bar doesn't seem to do anything.

Why is it that every time William is in a cutscene, the whole story becomes a parody? In region 5 during the war when he suddenly fires a random cannon that somehow solves the current problem in the war just made me laugh out loud for the seer absurdity of the situation. Another part was when Okatsu gets knocked back from Kelley and somehow stumbles down the fucking balcony, only to have William follow her and cover her while they both dive into the water. I'll even do you a solid and put on my Fanatic gear and drop it at Isle of Demons. It'll need some reforges probably, but it's something.

It's actually good. Wind decreases the damage something does when under the effect. It's really good if you're stacking defense and also using devigorate talismans or steel talismans.
It depends on what you want to do really and if you're using much onmyo (you are aren't you, anon?).
Lightning is good for a really fast and mobile weapon like the duals, but earth is too since you can break almost anything's ki in about 2 GoW3 combos once you proc earth I think. Water is better than fire, but I wouldn't choose it over lightning or earth. The best part about the elements is that you can stack set bonuses that let you do more damage to foes under the effect, except for water. There's no set for that element so it's kinda worse just for that reason. If you're just wearing master swordsman's, use earth or lightning.

yeah go with Spirit and whatever is the main scaling stat for your weapon. I personally use sword for the damage but Spear has sick reach. You'll also want a good amount of magic for Pleiades and Extraction talismans, plus your standard damage stuff like Carnage, Weakness, etc.

weird question, but can a weapon without fixed stats (i.e. non-set bonus or without a fixed element) have a full stat page? Or will it always have one missing?

I get irked sometimes, but I always man up before too long and git gud
No matter how bad I can be, I'll never be so technically retarded that I can't figure out to dodge left or right, or stick to spear's mid-stance while whining about how it drains the most stamina. He doesn't ever ki pulse then gets mad about the enemy's magic unstoppable stunlocking

It took me three tries to beat Giant Toad, and him about a dozen. Even Saika, who gave me a fair bit of trouble, didn't take half as many tries as he's burned through against him

you have tons of options

I usually go for builds that have lots of versatility or at least synergize well towards a certain goal

If I were to use 1kat, it wouldn't stop at pure 1kat. It would be with a skill build that allows for use of other weapons as well. Or maybe a dexterity build with recurrent damage with 1kat + kusari. Or something like that.


I'm working on a crowd control build right now that stacks final blow damage and combines daiba washi guardian talismans with fire traps. I alternate between the two and it just repeatedly knocks enemies over for free final blows.


I suggest getting as yasakani magatama as soon as you can and looking at equipment set bonuses. Stack a few 4 set bonuses for as much close combat damage as you can. A versatile way to set it up is to get the weapon and two pieces of armors from a set, do that twice and it leaves you one armor slot for whatever you want, like an extra 2 piece bonus or something. From there you should choose sets that have things that synergize with what you want to do.

for example

Futatsu-mei Norimune & Hone-bami Toshiro
2 armor pieces from master swordsmans
- for sign of the cross and close combat damage

Atagi Sadamune
2 armor pieces from kingo's
- for final blow and close combat damage

hino enma's helm
- for 50% extra damage against paralyzed enemies
an accessory with 25% damage up against paralyzed enemies
yasakani to make all of the set bonuses work
kato for extra skill damage

and you have a 2kat build made to paralyze enemies with medusa powder and unzip into them for insane damage

Then, about that I guess. At 60+ stamina you get only +0.1 weight though, which is the same as strength normally. Maybe it's better to go in strength after 60 stam to get some extra damage. Don't know what weapon you're using, though unless it's CtA stam axe, I'd go strength.

Why does the spear's chidori move feel so random on if it knocks down human enemies? Sometimes it can juggle them with the first two hits then suddenly they guard the last hit other times only the 2nd or final stab hits yet they get knocked down

Guys, I've been thinking.
I don't think toughness is the only thing to affect hyper armor.
Of course its just a hypothesis, but ever noticed how tatenashi/heavy armor revenants never even flinch at attacks?
While red memes with 200 toughness usually don't go past a couple of hits until they stagger.
I've thought of a few possible reasons:
1-Heavy armor has a hidden hyper armor boost, besides the toughness
2-Agility acts on hyper armor, making the best being C>B>A>D(?)
3-There's a damage threshold that WILL make you stagger regardless, provided that the enemy's damage manages to pass the threshold.

Yes, I do not have any evidence for now.
That's why its still a hypothesis and not a GAME theory.
Please share info, thoughts and any evidence you may have.

If you're into medieval fantasy settings, go Dark Souls. A lot of the areas there are beautiful, but combat pales in comparison to Nioh. Community is hotter in Nioh, though since it's the newer game.

How come a weapon can have different base damage value?
A normal vl150(+0) Nami-oyogi Kanemitsu at 0 familiarity normally has 1002atk but i own a couple with 1123atk under the same conditions.

What's up with that? So far this is the only weapon for which i've noticed such a thing.
