I remember somebody a few threads back asking about the Colorado's armor, so I was a little curious after it seemed like it only got a tiny belt of 343mm armor and nothing else protecting the citadel, but it looks as though the rest of the belt armor is actually grouped with the Plating section in the armor viewer and can only be seen when you disable the Casemate and Deck armor sections but keep the Plating.

The Sims strengths are its excellent brawling potential thanks to the usual USN DD abilities combined with an extra super-maneuverable hull, plus faster turret traverse and concealment than Mahan.

The invisifring is kinda useful sometimes, but a visible Sims above 10.6km range is damn hard, if not impossible, to hit anyway thanks to the small size and ridiculous maneuverability. It will remain a very strong ship.

Except it didn't and we both know it. That's why you brought it up. Because it got by default the range buff provided by taking the pre-nerf AFT. The difference is the AFT nerf wasn't systemic to ALL ships. As it stands, a little over half the ships in the game are capable of stealth fire. By that I mean, capable of firing at a range at a target that would not be able to detect it in open water. The NC can do it for example. But it can do it only at ranges from target >26 km, and with all Range upgrades applied her max range is 26.586, giving her a half km stealth firing window. Obviously not something likely to be USED, but this capability must be removed as well. This isn't a change to individual ship stats, or the way a Captain Skill Buff works, but a systemic change to the way the spotting engine works. This is less like removing smoke from DD's for example, and more like changing normalization values across the board are, which, btw, happened, and *DID* nerf a number of premiums who received 0 compensation as this was a total change to the game, not select ships.

The Gremy is least of all to get a buff, given her *admitted* OP nature. WGing won't even sell the thing, much less give it buffs to 'compensate' from a universal nerf. The Sims and Zao are more likely to get buffs in a tit-for-tat treatment than the Gremy is.

They're only talking about the initial change here, the blanket nerf (like the AFT change) which affected all premiums last time too, and will affect them all this time as well. Unlike specific ship nerfs like IJN torpedoes which missed the premiums.

Same reason the USN called the Alaska a CB or Big Cruiser. Even though at the time of launch there were other Battleships still afloat, being used in combat, that had 12" Guns, and that the 12" guns on the Alaska had a performance more akin to the 14" on other USN BB's, with armor that could more or less defeat it's own guns, with speed and AA comparable to many BB still afloat.
