Why the fuck does the idiotic bot keep Patches during the mulligan stage? Also how do I set him up so that he will trade first and then attack with Frotting Beserker? I just watched 3 games where the bot got rather unlucky and had Patches in the first mulligan hand, he kept it 3 out of 3 times. And during one of the games he missed out on like 15 Beserker damage by first attacking then killing the minions. He lost because of this.

This card is too limited by its own restrictions to be good, it draws 3 cards but they are just 3 slow crappy 1 mana minions (since paladin doesn't have broken 1 drops), you have to spend another 3 mana to play them with little effect and threat, buffing them requires you to slow down more and lose tempo even harder. It's a greedy card but it's essentially useless.

Why do people pretend f2p players are parasites when Blizzard made the conscious business decision to have the game be free to play?

They could've just as easily charged the price of a full game for HS and each subsequent expansion, but chose to not do so. The reason being is that they anticipated making more money with big pay2win spenders than charging everyone say $50 or however much to play the game.

Asking what Blizzard gains from keeping HS f2p is like asking what Gaben gains from making TF go f2p.

The problem is, you're not even talking about strict f2p players.

In the current economic model spending 50 bucks on a pre-order is becoming the mandatory minimum just to scrape by a few meta decks.

This problem is most likely going to exacerbated with the double class legendaries in place on top of the lack of adventures.

There was a fine balance of spending some money on Hearthstone and farming quests before, which the adventures made viable. People being forced to spend a minimum of 150 bucks on top of farming quests every single day for 365 days a year is going to take a toll on not only the f2p (no longer viable at all) and the lower bracket of paying players (very large amounts of players spending 50-80 bucks per year).

The midrange is still fine, spending 150+ per year (but even they will find their collections to start to become very lacking if you don't have amazing pulls + pulling the right cards), and of course the whales going 300+ pear year.

But sure keep pretending that this is a problem about f2p players wanting every card for free. I think that people will start catching on with the summer expansion.

People could and did play Pirate Warrior (and probably Aggro Shaman too) on a budget, a cheap version could cost you 1000 to 1500 dust from scratch and most of it was Classic cards so most people already had half the deck pulled from packs.

You can still win without legendaries, but obviously the deck was significantly stronger with cards like Patches and Leeroy which made it tourney tier. That being said even Zoo could be improved with things like the discard-package from Karazhan, Gormok, Sea Giants, etc.

Sure you might get some new archetypes and maybe a few cards get introduced, but it's not like Nzoth priest has a ton of flex slots and I doubt secret paladin will be changed very much with each expansion. Hell most of my wild decks have added jack shit from Gadgetzan aside from pirate warrior/shaman. One of the best things about non rotating formats is that the decks stay largely the same unless they go YGO levels of power creep which they obviously haven't.
