Yes. Swords are much better at it though due to ranger area and more accuracy. You go through ranger duelist marauder area and put an inc AoE gem in your sockets. Going all the way to the templar isn't that rewarding for just the AoE either anymore. You now get like 2 extra radius from it while previous patch you got like 4-5 radius from it.

Alright took that off. The WED nodes are mostly for the penetration. I assume that even if my damage will be 90% Elemental that the nodes are worth it just for the penetration alone. I got rid of the Elemental Damage nodes in the Templar Tree and took a few more pure Phys nodes in the Shadow area.

Yes, the jewel seems to be intended so you can exchange single target for more aoe by spreading the fireballs further but in reality it gives you conc at no cost and 4 more projectives on a skill that already had some of the highest (potential) damage.

Mechanically as a skill it feels pretty bad though.

Grab ~200% life with some damage nodes for Juggernaut from any popular guide tree, same for Occultist except you need CI of you want a massive health pool so its ES% instead after specing out of some life nodes
You can play all map mods with this one if you're not retarded and know already how gem supports work, but Jug is more straightforward.
