Because it was a controller friendly MMO and I will argue it is far more intuitive there.

There is no reason why I have to hold RMB to rotate the camera. You can use the arrow keys, at which point your keyboard might as well be a big controller. Spreading your hand over the keyboard to hit hotkeys is pretty shit compared to having everything ready at your fingertips.

Shatter pops more often than seal rock. SR forces pvp confrontations whereas you can just run ice to ice with the occasional break in shatter. Many people are not in pvp for actual pvp, they just want their rewards and they don't like getting frustrated by other people killing them/not being able to kill people. Which is a shame because they would enjoy the overall experience much more if they did those things.

Note that for the black ADS (200 wins of any mode), all 200 wins need to be with the same GC. The garo mounts are not too bad to get, you'll have some shit games but 10 frontline wins is really not a lot and the queues are very alive at most hours. I'd recommend doing most of the remaining wins for the 60 win mount in 8v8, though you can just keep doing FL if you find that you like it.

Good luck getting the coat, although from now until June is probably the best chance you've had to get it since SR initially came out.

Personally I fucking hate healing for pugs. I don't mind playing pocket healer if I'm queueing with at least one other person but pugs wander all over the place, lowering your effectiveness significantly, and you may not get a single person in your party capable of killing another player. By the same token, PLD is fantastic for stuns that make people massive targets for being focused down but most pugs will not take advantage of this (tanks are not always a given in FL parties too but their LB is really nice in a tight spot)

"Strength carry" doesn't denote being tanky, it's a term for typically midgame-focused carries that have str as their primary attribute and usually shit lategame. A spectre or anti-mage with one fucking item is already able to soak more damage thanks to their passives.

I picked up BLM because monk gets frustrating without consistent healers and had instant success on it even in pugs. Just swiftcast/sharpcast thunder 3, drop the thundercloud proc on another target and keep spreading thunder. If people are without healers, you can kill them with thundercloud procs/phantom dart (pvp ability - MAKE SURE TO USE YOUR PVP ABILITIES THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT) or even scathe when they're trying to run away. Don't worry too much about fire 4 unless you are confident nobody is going to bother you, and be ready to give up astral fire and enochian if some tank comes after you. Don't get too attached to ley lines (the guide I read says to not use it at all, but some people are stupid and will let you).

All three of those classes are quite viable in 8v8; BLM is a major pain if left unchecked - you should be standing somewhere with good visibility to not get LoSed and then just open up with fire 4s, AST is...well, you need healers (always play diurnal, noct is garbage, if there's a diurnal ast just switch to something else), and PLD has stuns.

I'm no pvp expert, just been having fun with it lately, but hopefully that should get you out on the right foot.

You're now over-complicating everything. If you wanted to quickly target something to use a skill and then come back to another target you're now looking at a mess of hand movement to do that on a controller.

Sure, and there's also no mouseover, but it's not a problem with the game's massive cast times and GCD unless you're literally playing at a speed of one button per second. If you ever have trouble performing with a controller chances are your entire group is struggling to begin with.

I was wary about healing with a controller until I realize how easy it is. There is even a button to target the target's target so that you can dps the tank's target and go back to him by using that same command again.

And the primary reason I used a controller was because running, jumping and moving the camera feel much, much more natural.
