Generally speaking, if you're not at a level where you get level sync'd in an instance, higher level players will always out-DPS you. In levelling dungeons I wouldn't sweat it too much though, as long as you're doing your skill chains correctly and not standing in the AoE you're already doing enormously better than most of the slack-jawed yokels higher level players are all too familiar with in the roulette.

Does the game automatically disconnect you if you idle for too long? I close the game's window while waiting for dps queues to play other shit, and every time I remember to check it I just come back to a 9002 error.

Seriously though, does anyone know of a good RP FC on Balmung? Preferably one with a minimum of ERP, high school level cliques/drama and memespamming?
