Well I was having a lot of fun on my brand new run of LW1, but on my first UFO assault I got a hangup after getting suppressed by a sectoid. Audio and UI worked fine but I can't even press escape to bring up the menu, or use any abilities or select units. I looked this up and apparently it's been around since the game's release.

What the fuck? I have about an hour invested into this mission, is there a fix?

I don't just want to kill them, that's too simple, I want to humiliate and degrade them. But until the option to capture and rape them then upload it to the darknet to lower morale and instill more fear, I guess killing them will do.
>>
>>169390907
There are a lot of mods and most of them are minor tweaks for LW. A couple eventually got incorporated into LW itself - you used to need a separate mod to see the entire skill tree, and what currently exists as the UFO scanners project used to be a mod - but some really good ones were made near or after LW's final release version so they didn't have much hope of being packaged with it by default.

Honestly most of my xcom/x-com losses have been a slow crawl of despair as my roster suscumbs to wounds and the eventual death of all veterans and eventually the weight is too much for rookies to bare. I can't remember the last time I lost an x-com campaign, maybe when I was really young. It think one time I put my base in Antartica because I thought that would be a real cool secret base. It was cool, but it was also a little too secret.

Welp, I just f5'ed my post into oblivion, so fuck it.

Go with Sapper if you don't trust your Technicals to destroy cover when necessary, or if you don't like using Demolition, or if you really want to blow up cars. It still isn't going to let you destroy most ADVENT construction until you get better grenades, and support-spec 'naders with Rapid Reaction and Sting Grenades can change an entire engagement on a whim.

Lies. Lies and slander. Suppression breaks overwatch, removes the ability to grenade, kills accuracy, and can make a lot of enemies just turtle up for a turn.

Sure, when you have an enemy bold enough to run your suppression, you can be in for a bad time, but that doesn't make Suppression shit.

Stealth or combat for LW2 blacksite?
>>
>>169426040
If it's not a gunner then I wouldn't bother with suppression. Think about suppression on your technical man. Running technicals with smgs so they can be in good position for rockets or flamethrower is pretty standard. smgs and suppression don't mix. Even a rifle is a pretty poor suppressor. In the meantime your gunner is suppressing 4 enemies and can actually hit them if they run and do damage.
Removing overwatch might have mattered in XCOM1, but now everything removes overwatch. And the AI is going to run that suppression everytime when they don't feel threatened. A suppressing techincal is a non-threat.

But hey maybe, I'm wrong. Have you run a suppression techincal before and what were the results? If not, go for it, no one is stopping you.

Only way to make it useful is a fully loaded assault rifle, or putting a huge expanded mag on your piddly little smg for very little value. Just use gunners for suppression senpai.
>>
>>169427382
>dead weight

Well, with an SMG, they ARE dead weight. SMGs are terrible. They were terrible in LW1 as well, yet people seemed convinced that Engineers and Medics had to carry them for the fringe utility, then complained those two classes were shit in regular combat.

Give your Techncials a goddamn rifle. A good rifleman is never useless. Technicals don't have the aim of Rangers, Gunners or Sharpshooters, but they're no worse than the next trooper. Give them some Tracer Rounds and a Scope and tell that soldier to shoot his weapon!
>>

>>169427929

No one did this.
Anyway, for LW2, smgs for grenadiers and techinicals on timed missions, rifles on full on firefights.
>>
>>169427671
I do use Gunners for Suppression. That's their job. What giving Suppression to a Technical does is enable them to still be useful after they otherwise would not be useful.

>enemy just runs your suppression
Stop suppressing MECs.
>>
>>169428079
Ok seriously the average trooper will run overwatch and suppression. People try to run my gunner suppresion all the time which is why I use area suppression when I have the luxury even on single targets.
>>
>>169428079
I don't think you understand.

Your smg literally can't even take the shot on someone running your suppression.

It's useless and anyone can walk right out of it.
>>
>>169428204
Looks like we have a serious case of "personal experience may vary", here. Most enemies I've encountered don't tend to run Suppression unless they're either flanked or heavily armored, like Mutons and mechanical units.
>>
>>169428291
>Your smg literally can't even take the shot on someone running your suppression.
You're an idiot. Area Suppression costs extra ammo to take extra shots. Normal Suppression does not. An SMG suppression costs two ammo, can take a shot at the unit who dares to run Suppression, and then has to reload on the following turn. A Rifle has one ammo remaining after the same situation.
>>

This is actually pretty on the mark. The base game of EW was "delay/mitigate panic across the world while developing your tech and soliders so you can complete story missions". LW1 didn't change that, only really changing the mechanics of panic - but largely for the better.

LW2 makes a lot of changes to how the game progresses.

Shooting down big ships with early weapons is not easily done. If you have little craft ammo, save it for small craft like runabouts and cutters that have little health. I think early social/merchant techs makes beginner craft weapons and ammo available in the markey, stuff like 25mm rounds and unguided rockets.

The big cash money early on is the freighter, which almost always lands and cruises at only 1400 knots, so the pachyderm and other early craft can easily follow it to its landing spot. Remember that you can shadow craft by minimizing the pursuit window. Freighters have two full-sized engines to steal with 50 units of fuel total, and about 200 units of plasteel in their hulls, on top of random civilian-grade cargos. If you snatch the crew, which includes a pilot and an engineer, you can get some good researches or ransom them for top dollar.

Ratman villages are pretty shitty money-wise, they have few valuables and are worth little ransom. Church raids and academy outposts are where it's at in terms of scooping up a bunch of captives to research or cash in.

Additional question - of existing animations, which one would be best to serve as base for firing underbarrel grenade? I mean, normal grenede launcher animation would look weird without replacing weapon (soldier would swing his/her arms around for no reason) and any try to edit fbx files in Blender cause X2 editor to crash when I try to import changed files. At the same time, just using, say reload animations for different weapons would also look a bit off.

Umm, idk. Is it possible to shorten an snimation. Like cut it down to the actual part where you shoot? Because there is a brief moment where they aim straight forward, and then adjust for angle before firing.
>>
>>169511541

Funny enough, the adjusting part is probably handled by "aim" notification, since when you open the grenade launching animation in editor, it looks like if they just fire forward.

Like with flamethrower animation before, I can simply copy notification from one animation to another. The problem I face is that I cannot modify existing animations in Blender.

Assault is love, assault is life.
Dominga "Stalker" Perez, grew in the ghetto shitholes of brazil.
Each day was practically a 24 hour long game of survival, with drugs, guns and cocaine.
When ADVENT came, that shit came to end. Peace and love for all.
Stalker disagreed, she had grown addicted to the favela shithole lifestyle like grade A crack addict to their fix.
So now she slap aliens shit around with her trusty Technical slave cuck PhD, who clears the aliens little hidey holes with the Bunker Buster, just so her ever cold love can go and pleasure herself in the blood of alien scum.
With perks like
>Deadshot
>Shredder
>Serial
>Resilience
>Cool Under Pressure
>Implacable
She is always on the mood for some tasty Ayylien ass.
She also has a super cool sidekick officer DJ Khaled "Player" Turk, who is always cheering on her to go "Get some!" and always commanding her to give the aliens an extra one up their asses.
Rest of her squad is practically a cavalcade of skimpy clothed men who cheer on her and sometimes provide "support"
Her arch enemies are Sidewinder snake whores, who are SOMEHOW able to run away from under her watchful eye.
The golden sniper boy "The Cleaner" who is always competing for the carnage with his own "serial" brand of massacre.
Also Dante, not from devil may cry, who is a fucking disgusting weebwarrior with his stupid folded gookblade, but nigga knows how to shank a nigga, so he gets shit done and is always trying to one up our latina heroine.

Thank you, her autobio is 5,79 ADVENT bucks & her action figure 14 A$.

Patch 1.2 Notes:

Some highlights I saw:
>- Fixed two urban maps that were not allowing soldiers to jump low obstacles or break through windows, and we're placing people to rescue in bad locations

> Added Sedate Ability to medikits; will allow you to render unconscious any adjacent human ally who is panicking, stunned or disoriented. This allows them to be carried out of combat. Uses 1 action, does not end turn, has two charges.

>Delayed first chance of Avenger Defense dark event based on DifficultySetting. Hunter UFO will cap at 14 days flight time.

>You may now evac to escape from regional network tower missions

>-Added new NavHelp button "Strip All Weapon Upgrades" to UIArmory_Loadout, UISquadSelect and the Upgrades UI.
>Increased resarch time and/or reduced application chance for several tactical dark events

->Flamethrowers given +1 range to get it back to intended 1.0 levels

>Unarmed rebels get 4 hp like their armed counterparts.

>Rebels will only get lasers/mags if you've researched the appropriate techs as well as the existing triggering techs. So a mag rush that skips lasers will prevent rebels from getting lasers.
>>
>>169541329

from Patch 1.3

>Feature
- Adding Smash n Grab mission and associated activity. This mission will show up fairly often, including from campaign start. XCOM starts out revealed at a fixed evac point. At a nearby ADVENT structure is between 4-6 loot boxes that contain supplies, elerium dust, alien alloys, an elerium core or a datapad. Loot will scale up over the course of a campaign. A soldier may carry loot from only one box. The mission uses a "soft" timer of steadily increasing reinforcements after a turn threshold is reached. Mission can occur in city, smalltown and wilderness areas.

I's a shame this change didn't make the deadline
>>
>>169545298
I've been playing since somewhere between b7 and b9 and still haven't completed a campaign due to this.
>>
>>169545445
>I's a shame this change didn't make the deadline
I've seen a few Smash and Grabs actually. They're neat missions, but usually come down to taking a dedicated combat team, shooting your way into the facility, nicking a few boxes, and evac'ing ASAP. A big thing they didn't tell you there is that you start with the evac zone already placed where you spawn, so you have to hoof it across the map back to the evac zone once you have the goods.
>>
>>169546298
I've never seen one, are they in 1.2?
>>
>>169546514
No, they aren't live yet, they're aiming for 1.3. As for how I've seen them anyway, I watch JoiNrbs, who streams on a dev version of the game, and he's done a few S&Gs that I've watched.

He does 8-hour streams from 11 AM to 7 PM PST every day. Right now there won't be any S&Gs, they were disabled on the internal build until tweaked. They might come back later though, we'll see as things develop.

>>169547219
Don't be down, they're cool missions and Pavonis will bring them back in a good state, have faith in that.
>>
>>169545445
Sounds like a good change that will help with the supply drought early game.
>>
>>169547181

That happened to me last campaign.

I had a small UFO. Then *landed* Raider, a Terror Mission, a Covert Extraction, *another* small UFO and a Council Mission all within the span of ~48 Hours. Honestly, it was probably the most enjoyment I have had in XCOM, since I *really* had to think hard about what soldiers I wanted to send on what mission, and seriously considering skipping the 2nd small UFO.

I did it, but my god that was a stressful month, and I had to double up with a lot of my soldiers. Thank CHRIST I built 3 Shiv's (and 1 Superheavy Laser Cannon), and 2 Suppression Modules earlier in the campaign, even though I had only used them once before in the campaign on an early bomb disposal mission.

And if that wasn't enough, THEN the savefile got corrupted and I lost an entire I/I campaign 7 months into it.

It's a percentage chance to miss. To take this chance, you must move adjacent to the enemy. If you miss that soldier is probably dead. Furthermore, a shotgun from the same distance does more damage and actually has less chance to miss. Furthermore, moving into melee range increases the chances of activating additional pods. Furthermore the shotgun let's you position in better cover, where if the enemy is disable they won't be a threat.
Shotguns are infinitely superior to swords (in vanilla). If you can blue move to use a melee attack, you should be using a shotgun instead. If you have to dash to make a melee attack, you shouldn't do that because you will likely trigger more pods.

I don't know what you are trying to prove here. You are new to X2 and I am simply informing you that swords are a mistake.
>>

>>
>>169642514
>increases the chances of activating additional pods
The pod mechanic is just a mess. The maps should atleast be a lot bigger for it.
>can't flank or send someone to go around the back because you'll activate
>can't get in CLOSE RANGE because you'll activate
>can't make moves that will reveal more tiles because you might activate

>>169642514
now you're talking

>a shotgun from the same distance does more damage and actually has less chance to miss
this has to be bullshit,

>moving into melee range increases the chances of activating additional pods
I suspected this, but its a bullshit mechanic either way

now for the counter points:
the melee depends on how much you upgraded your blades vs shotguns, I'm assuming they will remain better, however, with class skills + you could use regular rifles for the range thus having the blade for close combat, make they worth it

you counter the fucking pods triggering, but you're close enough its still very likely enemies will move in to flank you, in which case they may be close enough for a blade attack, if you're out of ammo or want save a shot

its truly enraging when someone misses a melee shot, but I see cases where they worth it, and it makes the assault class one of the more usable ones, seriously, grenadiers are shit, and snipers too slow
>>
>>169643735
>The pod mechanic is just a mess
agree there friend, its shitty game design, period
this got me thinking, what those really awesome tactical real time war games?
>>
>>169644005
>this has to be bullshit,
Anon, looks at the numbers. It's true, and this doesn't even count that fact that shotguns very quickly get 100% crit chance. Shotguns are more accurate, have more range, do more damage.

>its truly enraging when someone misses a melee shot, but I see cases where they worth it, and it makes the assault class one of the more usable ones, seriously, grenadiers are shit, and snipers too slow
Anon your game theory is just way off. Grenadiers and shotguns rangers are the god tier classes (not including psi). Also if you are taking sword perks, you are skipping conceal perks, which means you are missing out on the most op ability in X2, since always knowing where the enemy is let's you always set up the perfect engagement.
>>
>>169640440

>>
Hopefully the expansion will drop stealth from this trainwreck.
>>
>>169643735
I don't know why people think removing the pod system would suddenly mean you don't risk consequences for moving forward. Instead of a pod of 6 you'd see 6 enemies group up on you.
>>
>>169645008
Because they only see what it put right in front of them.
>>
>>169644561
>Shotguns are more accurate, have more range, do more damage.
yeah I know, I just mean its more shitty game design example

>since always knowing where the enemy is let's you always set up the perfect engagement
you don't always know where the enemy is though,
I've had lots of situations where you had to run against the timer to get somewhere, and was surprise triggering three pods at once before setting up the trap
and this is yet another shitty mechanic that fools people thinking its something like a stealth mode
>>
>>169645067
Concealmnet is a stealth mode. You don't always know where all the enimies are, unless you have two conceal rangers. Then you actually do know where all the enemires are. Because they start in concealment, don't lose concealment, and then can re-conceal once they do break concealment. The most amount of perfect intel you can ever achieve in an xcom game.
>>
>>169645008
Yeah this. The pod system means you're not already engaging all the enemies on the map from get go, or having them be brain dead.

A time unit system would unschackle the game from pods because you could balance it pretty well, but it would be too complex for the modern market.

Can't have games normies would need to spend time on to learn well, then the game won't sell.
>>
swords in vanilla are so useless you should never even do the autopsies that give you upgrades. shotguns do double damage literally because of how easy it is to get 100 percent crit. you can also get 90 percent shots consistently very easily
>>
>>169645295
>A time unit system
a what?
nigga, all had to do is tune down the quantity of enemies, have them all activated at once, balance therefor
the original x-com had no bullshit like this,
>>
>>169645662
That limits AI potential dramatically.
>>
>>169645662
You can't copy and paste og x-com into new xcom. The mechanics are vastly different. Time units and cover are two huge difference which is why the pod system was developed in the first place.
>>
Snek.
>>
>>169646227
>>169646179
that's bullshit

>limit AI
what do you even mean by this? you can easily trigger all pods in a map at once, AI still take turns so this is easy on processing

x-com uses a design in which you face groups of three enemies, so its dumbed down design, and they add loads of enemies to balance that
they could just as simply have good AI and strong enemies in lower quantities to keep the game balanced and challenging

original xcom had dozens and dozens of enemies, but you have like 20 soldier to go with in each mission as well

other tactical games have smart enemies that walk around alive and may even sneak up on you if you're not careful
hence, why I asked earlier for that really good ww2 tactical game

>>
>>169650161
>what do you even mean by this? you can easily trigger all pods in a map at once, AI still take turns so this is easy on processing
isn''t it obvious? if you have as many smart enemies active all at once then the game is practically unplayable

the AI would have to be turned down dramatically in scope and intellect, which does not make for a better game

og-x-com AI is pretty retarded. The are scripted to wander the map inanely with no rhyme or reason (or sit still in a small corner un-moving and unbreathing). Once they spot you, the AI flips to the combat AI in which the begin to take shots at you and then run away, or tossing a nade if they can catch multiple soldiers in the blast. They don't really have any tactics beyond what I just listed.

Also og-x-com does not have the cover system of new xcom, which makes stumbling on an enemy (or getting stumbled upon) a completely different event. og-x-com is built on weapon in-accuracy in all situiations, while new xcom dictates you must be in cover before weapons become inaccurate.

TUs also make a big different because it is the cornerstone of reaction fire and also means that you can easilty move units and then re-position them at any point in your turn.

wrong, they could be played in two different ways:
1. either the AI has shared awareness with nearby AI, but can still move around and investigate noise or other things while it didn't "notice" the threat yet
2. or or it could simply be as an enemy player altogether, where once threat is noticed, they all hush in to battle, ambush you, or even take guard to protect an objective.

either way, both of these can be balanced, by having more on par number of enemies with the number of squad member, and more importance on line of sight and unit awareness...
having the AI brain dead until you trigger it, is just bad design, I literally had a sleeping pod just behind a corner while blasting off other enemies, just a few tiles away, and that's just dumb

as an example to the above, the UFO series actually had this done pretty well, where enemies would roam the map, you had to go looking for them, and they could even sneak up behind you, you could see enemies not only by sight, but sound, infrared, psi and etc... of course this played out in real time which is a big difference in game play
much like og-x-com with time units, but we have to understand og-x-com and UFO were made on a different time, by small companies with limited resources, the recent x-com were made like this by bad design alone

Can you seriously not estimate where enemies are going to patrol into a great ambush, or do you just not prioritize protecting your Tech specifically for the purpose of getting up close and personal with his bag of fun?

I mean, I suck at LW2. So much so that I'm playing on Vet because Com and Leg beat my ass into the dirt, but even on those difficulties I can still set up a simple fucking Flamethrower ambush.

Trench gun is a great ability, but it doesn't set units on fire, and it can miss when you really don't want to miss. Besides, your Assault should be killing the twenty hp three armor MEC, not wiping out/CCing the scrubs.

So I have a supply raid, a troop column and a HQ (Lib5) all at the same time. I only have 2 good squads to deal with this. Which should I focus on?

Supply Raid is around 7 day timer, column is 5 days and HQ is HQ unlimited timer. My HQ is at 30% infiltrate at 8 man squad and I have 1 more squad of 8 ready to go for the supply raid or column. The month is mid april and ADVENT strength is 4 in the region.

My option is to continue the HQ raid to liberate the region but the Troop Column could drop the strength to 3 and the supply raid would raise it to 5 before I can get 100% on the HQ. What should I do?
>>
>>169712864
Never delay the HQ raid if you think you can handle it.
>>
>>169712969
Yeah I want to continue the HQ because it'll take like 8 days to get 100%, I might boost it if possible. I was more wondering of the other strategic opprotunity of the Supply Raid and Troop Column at the same time. Realistically I can only do one or the other. If I attack the column it would lower the strength to 3 but the supply raid would increase it back up to 4. Supply raid would increase it to 5 if I don't do it and I'll miss out on all the benefits it brings.
>>
>>169713450
Worth noting is that if you have any missions infiltrating in the same region as the HQ when you complete the HQ, they will auto-launch regardless of their infiltration level. Keep that in mind.
>>
>>169713450
I think that regions where you are ready to do the HQ raid are very hard to reduce ADVENT strength in.
Take the mission with most supplies/corpses reward.
>>
>>169713678
That'd be the Supply Raid, which is what he should do if he has time to field a good team/can handle 0%ing a Supply Raid.

This base assault (Jan 2036) has been a lot of wew

Luckily the late game is still easy with the right class setups and gear choices. Pulled 3 pods at once and tore through them. Even killed an Avatar on this mission. Still going.

For whoever's wondering (no-one) I build my team around a pair of crit assaults, with rapid fire and street sweeper. Then I've got a pair of snipers, one doubletap/snapshot and the other DFA/serial.

Rest of the team is 1 overwatch/tank spark, 1 support gren, 1 overwatch ranger (a beast), 1 medic officer, 1 utility gunner and a stealth shinobi.

Animations and Art is my thing. If I knew how to code them in I would anon. Often times I speak to people that code other games for mods and they tell me that in a million years they wouldn't have thought of the things I think of to mod . It's very frustrating to see potential in something but be stuck by the lack of technical knowledge required to implement it and lack of tutorials there of.
>>
>>169738337
Guess I'll try that and be a little less braindead using them
>>
>>169754053
She rolled with it. I made a rule not to change hair, face or race/skin tone.

And yeah, I learned to love the support grenadier after starting out with sapper and being extremely disappointed.

At MSGT I'm rocking 4 sting grenades, 2 frost bombs, 2 proxy mines and a shredder gun, plus the ghost grenade. I could just pack all sting and it would still be amazing. Rapid deployment means you can neutralize a metric fuckton of enemies as soon as you engage them. Plus, I use gunners or heavy weapons for cover removal.

I've got shredder on one of my snipers and one of my assaults from the AWC, plus a lot of heavy weps when I absolutely need something to lose its armour. Most of the time though, if something is in too much cover/armour, I'll just run up to it and deal absurd dmg with rapid fire assault.

Give support a try, let's you ignore ~1/2 of enemies you sting at no risk, the other 1/2 are still disoriented. Plus you can sting, move and sting again if you really need to. Or sting, move and use a different grenade/heavy wep/shoot.

Support grenadiers are better than boomers, without even getting into the loot benefits.

Support Grenadier's are *really* strong lategame because of the sheer volume of ayy neutering ordinance they can pump out. Plus, they strictly get better as the game progresses, whereas your squad is able to cover the uses of Boomers mid-lategame (Heavy Suits for Cover Destruction etc., Armor shredding, etc.). Sting Grenades are crazy strong in multi-pod engagements, since you can lead with *two* of them, and cut the number of things you need to worry about by *at least* 1/3, and have most or all of the rest severely stunted (low aim and no abilities).

Personally though, I do like Boomer Grenades and that is what I level up basically of my troops as until I can buy a high rank Grenadier later on. Non-standard grenades are fucking STRONG as heck (even though less utility than Flashbangs with Supporting perks) and you can never really have enough Cover Destruction.

I see. If I remember from my last campaign, my favorite MEC's are Valkyrie and Pathfinder (The Assault and Rocket ones are pretty nifty too).

I have a few underperforming Infantry that I can MEC up, but sadly all my Scouts seem to be doing well enough that I don't quite see any that are obvious Pathfinders. I am thinking of turning some of these CPL/SGT recruits into Scouts to put straight into Pathfinder.

Current Troop Roster if anyone is at *all* curious: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EBKdPJvZZrFMwpug7MLeaqc2cpz1RFoF4MUcaglfHA0/edit#gid=0

I believe this. At least, until some enterprising individual posts the environmental hp of most common objects on the wiki, anyway.
>>
>>169762425
I think early game when snipers are weak, rapid targetting is the better choice. snapshot is actually pretty strong as well for those juicy long range flank shots.
>>
>>169762425

*Personally* I like to get Death from Above, since it lets you Shoot+Reload basically every turn, or possibly Holotarget *after* shooting to help the rest of your team out. Rapid Targeting certainly has its merits, and is almost always better from a strictly "chance to hit" perspective.

Once you get Serial, Rapid Targeting is definitely better, especially if you get Vital Point Targeting.
>>
>>169762715
Once you get plasma nades and special nades, things get shaken up a bit again.
>Early game (before sing nades)
explosive grenadiers are better imo

Support naders

Now both grenadier builds really butt heads, it's hard to tell which is better, especially because they do things so differently.

I really don't like Snap Shot that much, but maybe I just don't know how to utilize it. I *REALLY* love Scouts for this sort of thing and I give basically all my other troops MEC killing potential (I always use a Heat Ammo+Rapid Fire Gunner on my A team) whenever possible.

Disabling Shot does fall off later in the campaign, to be fair. It is still incredibly good to have as a backup for neutering Elite aliens if you don't quite have enough Dakka after an ITZ spree.

With snapshot and lock n load you can reload and keep an ItZ chain going for a crazy amount of time

with ammo conservation and hicap mags you can get 6 (SIX!!!!) shots from a Gauss Long Rifle, and even more from other weapons.

Plus you can make crazy shots you wouldn't be able to for a meager -10 aim penalty.

There are 3 sectoids and a sentry holed up in the prison across the street. One of them approximately where my cursor is mindjacked the junior shinobi of the mission who has been slicing up advent left and right. Evac is en route and so are more advent reinforcements. The other sectoids have raised zombies and will probably send more as there is no shortage of chopped up troopers lying around. Nobody can get a flashbang into the building in one turn.

a. Wat do
b. If I flashbang her will it free her or do I have to get the sectoid
c. If I abandon her while mind controlled can I save her later
d. Can I just flashbang her and wait for mind control to end
e. Wat do

Those ranges look like somebody could get a flashbang into the building in one turn. They'd be at terrible risk, but if one flashbang could eliminate all the zombies and the mind control, a guy like me might decide to take the risk.

Safe bet is abandon the controllee and get the fuck out. Ballsy bet is sacrifice someone to go ham and maybe, but probably not, get everyone out.

>next turn zombie climbs up ladder and bitchslaps senior shinobi's armor off
>mind controlled shinobi charges up after and misses point blank smg flank shot at haven agent
>sectoid gets possibly close enough for a suicidal flashbang but is guarded by sentry overwatch
>mind control ends after 3 turns, Jane Stone is free at last
>everyone just picks up their shit and leaves no questions asked
>Jane Stone fires last smg shot from evac and kills the zombie before fucking off

And that is how I learned how long mind control lasts. Was definitely thinking of sending a haven recruit on a suicide run, but she broke free literally the turn that became an option.

Javelin is the most popular choice, I may be mistaken but I think it decreases the scatter too. Tandem and Danger Zone are obviously both risky when you already can't control where it lands.

That soldier is a very flawed rocketeer though, most people make them from their highest aim soldiers [more important than even snipers]. She should have aim in the high 90s-100s at that rank.

I tried bro. All of my Rocketeers have 67+ Aim (and 13-14 Mobility) as a Rookie. Unfortunately, all of my Rocketeers are pretty gimped on Aim. Which is a little crazy, since all my *Gunners* are usually my 64-66 Aim Rookies but all ended up with higher than average Aim.
