I'm using it with 6 part Kingo and 4 part WotW
my close combat damage and damage from behind is pretty ridiculous

though admittedly that's one of the most boring things you can do with it is stack damage, tons of unique options that it allows. and no they won't stack

So I was thinking of rolling 1kat+gama which kind of works out since I also wanted to focus on ninjutsu as well since I had a lot of fun with that in the last beta. So am I correct in dumping my points in Heart+Dex+Body+Spirit and maybe a few in magic to unlock that initial stuff? Would this be a viable build?

Personally I think the cheesiest thing is to grab the 4pc warrior of the west bonus with whatever else you do, since 2 of the 3 pieces you need for that are weapons you don't care about. It's basically +10% damage for giving up one armor slot, you can still reach another 5pc through armor alone, or 6pc if the set uses a weapon.

I'd say focus on kusari over katana. So Dex+Skill+Heart to some degree. Dex because you'll need your Ninjutsu stuff.

Get Spirit to 25 either way, because then you can use all of the spirit skills. But don't do it right away, since early on you'll have jack shit for spirits.

If you're only dipping for Onmyo, just get enough for a few Sloth talisman.

Genius Strategist is medium weight and has skills suited for axe as well as whatever your secondary weapon is.
The two Axe oriented armors are Kaido and Obsidian, both heavy. having C agility or dumping into Stamina is just the sacrifice you make for these

Are there any good ways to get locks of hair for samurai, ninja, or onmyodo? Preferably looking for samurai locks.

Kaido is great if you want to mash heavy attack, and it pairs well with Enko. Tatenashi is good for tankiness and boosting damage for being heavy.

Obsidian/Ebony is good for the 2pc/4pc, especially if you plan on using Intensity + Atlas Bear since Rage will help you blow your ki out faster. I don't think the 7pc stamina scaling is worth it in the long wrong though. Stat scaling gets shittier and shittier as you progress, as eventually +10% or +20% damage will outperform just having like +100 or +200 damage from something.

I spliced together the 4pc bonus from obsidian, 3pc from tatenashi, and 4pc from warrior of the west. That one piece of medium armor lets me maintain B agility at 99 stamina. Obsidian and Tatenashi are the heaviest sets in the game, and you can't reach B agility wearing only them. Kaido hits B agility at 99 stamina though.

Maybe Kingo's. +20% back attack damage and +14% close combat is really good. The weapon is naturally water meaning it lowers defense on proc putting it on par with the bonus damage to electrified enemies anyway (which is why there's a +damage set for every element but water).

no, but you're going to want Suppa Scrolls, Catwalk Scrolls, and Tiger Running scrolls from the ninjutsu tree. they'll let you speed run through any level without aggroing a single thing. there are 5 locations for the chest to be I think, but I find that it's usually in a certain 3 of them. with all those scrolls even if you find it in the very last chest you open the mission only takes like 1 minute 30 seconds and has a guaranteed accessory payout

Forces a reroll. Basically the item is set when you enter. Going to a shrine will force it to reroll once whether you've seen it or not. Once you see the item, taking any item with it but leaving the accessory and using the shrine will force it to reroll again. If more items dropped with it, you could do this for each one, but this spot only drops an accessory + mask.

This is why you look at the item without using the shrine, then use the one shrine reset, then the reset from taking the other item.

Toughness is definitely for stagger prevention. I've seen people say it improves your block as well, but I have 350 and I don't really seem to block any better for it and still lose stamina like a motherfucker on being hit for damage.

I wouldn't really worry about parry too much anyway. Most weapons have very similar values, and stacking it as affixes would also give a minimal difference.

Mission Level doesn't really mean anything. It comes down more to your equipment and items than your levels from my experience.

I can't say for certain but in my experience no. Luck seems to effect the quality of drops but not the amount dropped, based on my many runs of Yasuke and farming devs for helmets. Since Revs have set gear I don't think luck will help, though it might possibly give you a better chance of getting something divine rather than purple or lower (assuming they're not wearing all divine). You'd want increase rev drop chance, and maybe increase equip drop chance.
